The media went to considerable effort and expense to get you to feel that way.
Now, imagine. You're in your neighborhood. You see someone poking around you are pretty sure doesn't belong there. You check it out, but the police dispatch you are talking with says to return to you vehicle. The guy you were checking out has circled around and you are suddenly flat on your back on the sidewalk with this guy straddling you. Your nose is broken, you're gagging on your own blood in a sensation not unlike being waterboarded, and he's bouncing your head off the sidewalk saying he's going to kill you. You reach for your legally carried gun, and in the struggle over control of your pistol you shoot the guy, once.
You were attacked. you had reason to fear for your life. You had the means to defend yourself, and there is little doubt that had your attacker seized that weapon he would have killed you.
Now, for the real criminals in all this, look at how the media pixeled out the injuries to the back of Zimmerman's head, how they ignored his facial trauma, how they posted pictures of a little kid, and not the thuggish gang-banger type he had become and posted on Facebook.
Like Fergusson, the media ignored or even obscured fact to push their narrative, and by doing so, kept themselves writing stories for quite a while. They sold a lot of soap and made a lot of racists feel justified (especially black ones). Later, in the case of Fergusson (or even Baltimore) the media agitated the crowd without getting the facts and got businesses burned, people hurt and killed, and wrecked countless lives with their lies and distortions.
FRiend, know what is right, and never be ashamed of it nor the people who have been maligned. That's the first step in Alinsky's tactics, to isolate the target. To do that, they have to get people to shun those who do not deserve it.
The dudes brain is broken. The thug beating his @$$ must have damaged him... assuming it wasn't broken to begin with.
