Commerce Department to renew contract with the Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers
The U.S. Commerce Department on Monday delayed for at least a year its plans to give up oversight of a key component of Internet governance.
The department said it would renew its contract with the Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers for one year. Icann administers the Internets domain-name system, through contracts with the companies that sell website names and addresses.

“Delays” being the key word here ... inevitable is the ultimate outcome. Enjoy the internet while you can.

Considering that the Internet is one of the few uncontrolled ways to exchange ideas, the government will ultimately want complete control (and turn it over to the world powers that be). And they will get it.
You actually think that the Internet will remain free of government control? How naive.

Regardless who becomes President, the revenue available (tax) to the government via the Internet will be something that the government can’t ignore. Along with the taxing of the Internet will come control.

Yes, but may only be temporary. The Obama regime likely realized that, at least for this moment and time, the American people are OUTRAGED at our political establishment...both the ‘RAT end and the RepublicRAT end. Any additional surrender of American sovereignty or prerogatives may have simply been seen as becoming a “bridge too far”.

The truth is that both the USA and the world has lost control of the internet.

No, it’s more evidence that Congress has given too much power to the executive. We need to trim the executive branch of much/most of its power during the next administration. If we don’t we’ll never restore our republic and our liberty will continue to decline. To do that we need an executive who believes in small government, not using government to benefit our side this time.
