Oh What a Tangled Web…

The continuing saga of Hillary Clinton’s missing e-mails just keeps getting “curious-er and curious-er”. And I’m becoming more and more reminded of the Nixon Watergate investigation. You know, the one Hillary Clinton was fired from for unethical and dishonest behavior.

Then North Carolina Senator Sam Ervin gained fame through his leadership of the Senate Select Committee to Investigate Campaign Practices, also known as the Senate Watergate Committee, which was looking into the campaign practices of the Nixon re-election campaign.

The Watergate investigation gave us the phrase, “What did the president know, and when did he know it,” regarding President Richard Nixon. A quote that now looks very appropriate to use with regards to Hillary Clinton and her e-mail scandal. And a lesson we also discovered with Watergate now looks to be relevant for Hillary: the cover up is usually always worse than the original event.

With her bevy of lies and deceit beginning to unravel all around her it’ll be interesting to see just how loyal her staff members are to her when the threat of significant jail time looms before them. If the FBI can get Sammy ‘The Bull’ Gravano to testify against mob boss John Gotti, it’s not much of a stretch to believe that deals will start to get cut with some of the Clinton inner circle as this investigation progresses.

Hillary’s husband was successful in fighting off impeachment proceedings, but with both the Congress and Senate now firmly in the hands of Republicans, the very least Hillary might have to worry about is being successfully impeached and barred from holding future public office.

She faces a much more significant threat of criminal prosecution when her house of cards begins to tumble completely down. Is a Presidential Pardon waiting in the wings to shut her up about other issues embarrassing to Barack Obama? Time will tell on that one.

Certainly Hillary will continue to play this as a “vast right-wing” assault against her presidential campaign, as will her loyal campaign supporters. But unfortunately for her the tracks she has left pointing towards at the least, possible obstruction of justice charges lay waste to those arguments. The so-called “smartest woman in the world” has apparently outsmarted even herself.

While the FBI methodically conducts its investigation into Hillary’s handling of classified information over her private e-mail server, as well as her handling of the private server itself and the deletion of thousands of e-mails, Hillary’s explanations - or perhaps alibis is a better term - simply are falling apart.

The forensic investigation into this scandal will certainly turn up many more questions than answers, and Hillary will not be able to anticipate each one and be prepared with another lie to lay on top of the whoppers she’s already told. For that matter just how long will the State Department and the White House be able to run interference for Hillary before they come under the scrutiny of investigators as well ?

Considering that there is no love between the Clintons and Obamas, and included among the Obamas is senior and most trusted advisor Valerie Jarrett, it’s a good bet that Hillary will be left holding the bag if the heat gets too close to the Obama inner circle. If a ‘hands off Hillary’ policy serves the White House’s purposes then Hillary will be left dangling from the web of lies she’s already told.

And while Hillary may then decide to come clean on what happened during the Benghazi attacks, the Obama Administration can claim that it’s just sour grapes on her part since she now finds herself facing potential criminal charges. And besides, Barack Obama isn’t running for election again and doesn’t really care much what Americans think of him anymore anyway.

And as for Hillary, the old saying goes something like, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive...”

If everything you do is wrong, right is difficult to ascertain.

Our girl Hillary did some very bad things concerning Libya and Qadaffi.

Very bad things.

The e-mails are just a small part of it.

And that doesn’t even begin to address the problem of all those anti-aircraft missiles Obama let get away.

Hillary and Obama are being blackmailed by our enemies. That breaks the blackmail game.

The only way out is to let Biden be the President.

Bill and Obama make deals on golf courses and go undocumented.

Hillary chats on servers about Humas thighs and Benghazi missiles. Some girls never finish middle school.

Gerald Ford discovered how GIVING a presidential pardon makes noe unelectable. I can’t imagine RECEIVING one would go better. Of course, such pardons are usually issued in the last hours.
