His district -- or riding, as the Canadians call it -- is just across the border from me. It's in the outer suburbs of Vancouver, which are connected to the city by the Canada Route 1 freeway and West Coast Express, a commuter rail line.
His platform sounds like the NDP (New Democratic Party), which had a significant presence in BC after the old Social Credit Party collapsed into graft and corruption 23 years ago. Then the NDP bankrupted the province and was replaced by the Liberals.
After the bankruptcy, I don't know if the NDP retained much of a presence, but this fellow sounds like an NDP wannabee.
