No Really: Hillary Wanted a Book With Advice About How To Delete Emails That "Stay Deleted"

Now why in the world would Hillary Clinton want a book about how to permanently delete emails?

According to a new report from ABC's Jon Karl, the former Secretary of State requested a book about how to delete email before leaving her position in early 2013. Bolding below is mine.

The last batch of Hillary Clinton emails released by the State Department included one from Clinton asking to borrow a book called “Send: Why People Email So Badly and How to Do It Better,” by David Shipley and Will Schwalbe.

Clinton has not said why she requested the book, but it includes some advice that is particularly interesting in light of the controversy over her unconventional email arrangement at the State Department and her decision to delete tens of thousands of emails she deemed to be purely personal.

The copy that ABC downloaded for $9.99 had some interesting revelations.

Take, for example, Chapter Six: “The Email That Can Land You In Jail.” The chapter includes a section entitled “How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted.”

“Some people are hoarders, some are checkers,” the authors write. “The main thing to consider is that once you do decide to delete, it’s like taking the garbage from your kitchen and putting it in your hallway. It’s still there.

The chapter advised that to truly delete emails may require a special rewriting program “to make sure that it’s not just elsewhere on the drive but has in fact been written over sixteen or twenty times and rendered undefinable.”

Happens to be the book that pops up if you do an Amazon search for "How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted." https://t.co/spcFprJBqK— Phil Kerpen (@kerpen) August 13, 2015

Clinton admits to deleting 30,000 emails she deemed "personal" that were mixed with government emails hosted on her personal server. That server has since been seized by the FBI after it was revealed by an Inspector General she had at least two, top secret and highly classified documents in her possession.

Earlier this year when Clinton addressed the email scandal, she claimed she used one email device (her Blackberry) and one email account (her private email) for convenience. What's more inconvenient, sifting through 30,000 emails for personal or classified information in order to delete them, or using a government email account? We know the answer and we know why she chose the former, not the latter.

I doubt Clinton's email advice book gave her the skills she needed to keep the 30,000 emails she "deleted" away from the FBI. If she did a poor job (which she probably did), the FBI will certainly find them.

She must have some SERIOUSLY INCRIMINATING stuff on there if she herself was looking into this at the exclusion of others. Wow. If only.. We’d find out Benghazi was a planned hostage-taking of Stevens so her BFF Morsi could get his Blind Sheik back.

How to delete emails that stay deleted:

Take each recipient of the emails out in the woods. Shoot them in the head, and place gun by their side to indicate suicide. Worked in the past; could work again.

The best places to learn how to be a crook are prison and law school.

Even that’s not enough, though.

Funny thing about email. It’s very very hard to delete the evidence that you sent it.

The problem with email is that it is a communication medium as well as a storage medium. Its purpose is to disseminate messages. Once a message is disseminated, it’s all but impossible to delete.

The only way you can truly delete an email is if you control all the machines it went to and can trust that no one with access to one of those machines has copied it or forwarded it.

Tom Brady destroys his phone to coverup his actions on deflategate and the people are outraged. Hellbeast destroys a server and 50,000 emails to coverup her actions in the middle east and no one cares.

True. A long time ago when I was a Windows Admin, I also was the email Admin. Managers sought my help to incriminate people for emails that were sent out. I refused, showing them that I could spoof any email by changing the header information in the packets on the network, changing sender, dates and times, network paths, even the hardware and MAC address that sent it. Managers would go pale when I told them that. Told them it was their job to interview the people and get them to confess. You throw an email out there, and you've lost control of it. I saw plenty of embarassing emails mistakenly sent to whole departments instead of to one person!

She may have been wanting to learn how emails are deleted so she can recover Bill’s deleted emails to see if he had ben cheating on her. Just my opinion.

Didn’t she already buy The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Deleting E-mails? It’s right there in the Clinton Presidential Library, along with Complete Idiot’s Guide to Gunrunning, Complete Idiot’s Guide to Foreign Policy, and Complete Idiot’s Guide to Avoiding Head Injuries.

“Once a message is disseminated, it’s all but impossible to delete.”

This is the point that they all seem to ignore - doesn’t matter that she has totally wiper her server clean (unless both the sender and receiver were on only that server).

They have 4 classified emails to start with - subpoena all emails from the individuals that sent or received those emails for all emails they sent or received from Hillary. Probably will show pretty quickly items that she deleted - clear proof of her obstruction of justice. Then every person who is known to have emailed to or received emails from Hillary should be subpoenaed for Clinton emails - match them up. Surely there will be complaints the net is cast too wide - but when perhaps hundreds of people at risk of jail time, at least one will come clean.

Hillary complained of a vast right-wing conspiracy. Clear projection. Just how vast her left-wing conspiracy is isn’t known, but every person who emailed government business to her should have known her email was not on a government email account - yet not one ever raised the issue during her entire tenure as SOS.

It would be hilarious if the one thing they found on her server was an internet search on how to remove everything from her server.

And with Hitlery being drunk at the time, harder still.

Unlikely. 97% of the population of the entire world knows that has been going on for 4 decades....
