Donald Trump Named as Kremlin Agent by Ukrainian 'Enemy List' Website

A Ukrainian website has created a comprehensive list of Ukraine's supposed 'enemies'. The eclectic list naturally includes a slew of Ukrainian and Russian statesmen and public personalities, but also, more surprisingly, nearly two dozen foreign figures, from Xi Jinping and Nicolas Sarkozy to Steven Seagal and even Donald Trump.

After quickly gaining widespread media attention in Ukraine, the highly stylized website, which had a kyiv.ua domain, was quietly taken down, but not before internet archive Wayback Machine managed to index some of its content.

Ukrainian media reported that the comprehensive list was prepared on the basis of an anonymous survey of nearly three dozen Ukrainian sociologists and political scientists, adding that the Ukrainian Security Service also participated in the selection, ostensibly in the interests of "maintaining national security."

With user convenience in mind, the 'enemies list' was divided into several sections, including "Enemies," "Traitors," "Separatists," and "Agents of the Kremlin Worldwide," and featured a 10 point "threat level" scale.

The 'Kremlin agents' list included political and social figures deemed to have taken a 'pro-Russian' stance in world affairs. The list of 21 names includes everyone from French politician Marine Le Pen, to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, to Czech President Miloš Zeman.

In a comedic twist to the already absurd list, American billionaire and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump came in at number 9 on the list. Trump is described as being 'Ukraine's enemy' for "believing that as US president, he would become friends with Vladimir Putin, for sympathizing with him," and for "criticizing the US's policy in relation to Ukraine."

Well, Donald does think he is going to get along with Putin. Others have thought the same including Bush, Hillary and Obama - none have managed it so far.

I wonder if anyone knows if this question has been put to Trump yet. Will he provide assistance to Kiev against Russia, and if so what kind of assistance. Will he move more troops into the Eastern European NATO countries, etc.

Trump stated two weeks ago that this is Europe’s problem, not ours, and they don’t seem to be very interested in leading the way.

Donald Trump: Crimea is Europe’s problem

Well, some European countries are asking for more assistance if you count Poland, the Baltic countries, etc.

I think most people agree the Crimea is a done deal anyway, so that isn’t saying much.

The question is what Trump would do if Russia continues or even expands its activity in Eastern Ukraine. The problem with Trump is that he takes everything personally, so if Putin crosses him (which world leaders do to one another all the time), you have to wonder if he might respond in a disproportional way and trigger a real war.

Russia’s economy is contracting and maybe Trump thinks he can use that as leverage to get Russia to do what we want. If he believes that, I think he is mistaken.

Has this question been put to any of the candidates? Why must Trump answer every little thing specifically, when none of the others are held to the same standard.

Dunno, that’s why I asked. A vast majority of Republican law makers in the House (and many Democrats too) voted to arm Ukraine. I do believe some candidates have been asked about it.

This isn’t a little thing by the way. There is a very real chance Russia will continue to militarily intervene in Ukraine and it is pretty important to know what all the candidates plan to do about it (if anything).

Donald Trump suggests he believes he’d have a good relationship with Putin. That’s wonderful, but what does it mean regarding his policy on Ukraine?

I wonder why Trump is getting all these hardball questions when I don’t hear the other candidates being asked specifics along these lines. I think Donald is weak on foreign policy and that’s understandable - except that he believes in a strong military - as did Reagan - as a deterrent. What is Bush’s policy on the subject? Carson? Cruz? Walker, Fiorina, etc.?

I don’t know about all the candidates, but I know Cruz’s position which is:

“It is long past time for us to step forward and provide defensive weapons.”

This spring the House of Representatives voted to arm Ukraine by a vote of 348-48, and doing so is a red line for Putin - so it’s kinda of important to know where every candidate stands on this issue.

Not sure why you are being so defensive about it. Even if you are supporting Trump, wouldn’t you want to know about an issue as important as this?

I don’t need specifics - because until one gets in office and is able to assess the situation, then it’s difficult to know the right way to handle the situation. I’m not against what Cruz believes on this issue. but if our military arsenal is depleted and out of date - we are hardly in a position to arm others. Besides look what happened in Iraq. We lost expensive military equipment to ISIS.
