I know what youre thinking because Im thinking it too: Sign. Me. Up.
In fairness to him, grassroots conservatives arent his target audience any more than they are Jeb Bushs. If youre a moderate whos looking for someone with executive experience whos not Jeb, maybe this plays:
In an interview with National Journal, Kasich pledged another atypical tactic: Hes not going to attack any of his opponentsHillary Clinton includedand will instead focus on offering solutions to the nations pressing problems. He lived up to that commitment in his town hall meetings this week, not mentioning Clintons name at all and avoiding referencing any of his GOP opponents.
If Im talking about someone else, Im not talking about me. And I would rather them know what my record is and my passion is. So if Im spending my time attacking other people, that doesnt get me anywhere. Frankly, its not what people want. They want to know: Do you have a record, do you have solutions, can you lead? Kasich said. Its a lot more important for me to cement that down than getting people hooting and hollering.
Not only did Kasich avoid talking about Hillary Clinton during the two town halls I attended, he barely mentioned President Obama, either. He regularly reiterates his support for Medicaid expansion in Ohio. He praised Massachusettss educational standards as the best in the country while responding to a question about Common Core. On issues ranging from education to transportation to welfare, he bashed the federal governments ineffectiveness in handling those mattersbut championed active statewide government programs in their place.
Kasich makes clear in the clip below that while hed prefer to avoid a path to citizenship for illegals, hes not taking anything off the table. Interestingly, Jeb Bush would have you believe that he draws the line on amnesty at permanent legal residence for illegals, not citizenship; if you take Bush at his word, then Kasich (like Marco Rubio) is actually to Bushs left on immigration.
No on Kasich becoming President.
buh bye
Oh wait.
Kasich should run in the Democrat primary.
Zero for two...
Yes, but he went to a GAY WEDDING CEREMONY.
How tolerant. How compassionate.
This guy is delusional, like all power hungry politicians. He has zero chance.
Roh ruh! Buh bye!
On top of all this, Kasich is the one who, like Nanny Huckabee, thinks Jesus wants us to expand the Welfare State. How is he different from a Democrat again?
Because not attacking Obama worked so well for President McCain and President Romney.
Morons!
I am very ashamed I ever thought this man was worthy of being a politician I’d ever vote for.
There are simply no words for me to describe my disillusionment.
I said awhile ago that I often get Kasich and Kusinich mixed up.....I think Kasich has the same problem.
Remember, Kasich was on GWB’s short list for running mates. His role is apparently to try to make Jeb! look relatively conservative.
A person who refuses to acknowledge treason should never be President.
Kasich is out.
Sure there are: Trump/Cruz 2016
What a wuss.
Give this contestant the GONG
A McCain troglodyte.
Kasich is just someone I could not support. I view him as generally an economic conservative (except for big government) and liberal on most other issues.
