No president in our country’s history has been more concerned about his legacy than has Barack Obama. How ironic that people might someday best remember our first African-American Commander in Chief for having inspired the candidacy of Donald Trump.

Don’t discount the GOP-e played in creating Trump. If the Republican Congress had done what they were sent to do, Trump would not exist.

But then it would have been a lackluster field and conservatives would have been told to rally around the GOPe candidate because, blah blah blah........have heard it for almost 30 years.

Our military is a Leftist social engineering program just like the public schools, punishment of veterans is institutionalized through the VA system, Sodomite marriage is legal in every state, the Boy Scouts are grooming camps for Sodomites, transgender is a protected class and children as young as 4 get to choose their gender, the IRS runs America’s healthcare, abortionists are using tax dollars to enrich themselves through the sale of baby parts with impunity, illegals from whatever country are streaming across the border and housed for 10,000/day by the people who are supposed to be kicking them out, the IRS (the people who run our healthcare) now exist to punish political enemies of the ruling class, Iran and Cuba are now legitimate states, Iran will have nukes, racial animosity is at an all time high and blacks are maiming and killing whites with impunity, around 50,000,000 on food stamps, 60,000,000 dropped from the workforce, the autonomy of middle income people has been wiped out (everyone must pay homage to the government),....
This is not a massive failure. This is a massive success according to the left’s rubric.

This is very true. Over on the World War 2 daily thread I created what I called "henkster's Law of Alternate History," which states that alternate history theories must pass a reality test. In other words, an alternate history theory of Germany winning World War 2 isn't valid if the theory involves Hitler not being Hitler and the Germans not being the Germans.
The same is true here; an alternative theory of a Republican Congress doing what we sent them there to do isn't valid since it involves the GOP-e not being the GOP-e. You can draw your own conclusions on how to deal with that.

Oh, and now the left has no opposition: The Republican Party only exists to pacify a well armed and fed up populace.
And the government’s spokesidiots are twerps and bimbos who lie to our faces. Everyone knows they’re lying, they know we know, but we have to take them seriously because of their position. This is important for leftist/totalitarian propaganda because it’s so unmanning. Again, another success.
I’m not ready to call polling 23% of Republicans 15 months before the 2016 election a success.

Factor in normalcy bias. Conservatives (good people), as a rule, come away from established norms only after extreme conditions. That’s why conservatives in congress readily accepted the leadership of Boehner. “Boehner is a one of us. He just has to do these things because he’s dealing with a huge demagogue and the balance of power is so precarious.” Good people will assume good will is reciprocal until mounting evidence proves otherwise, and still, they’ll be forgiving to a fault.
My point is, had enough conservatives overcome normalcy bias early on and booted Boehner, the GOP may not look like it does now.
