Trump Open To Idea of Continuing Taxpayer Funding of Planned Parenthood
Breitbart ^ | August 11, 2015 | John Nolte

Posted on 08/11/2015 3:39:13 PM PDT by z taxman

During an interview with CNN Tuesday morning, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump stated that he was open to the idea of continuing to fund Planned Parenthood with federal tax dollars.

“The problem that I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation. It is like an abortion factory, frankly,” Trump said. “And you can’t have it. And you just shouldn’t be funding it. That should not be funded by the government, and I feel strongly about that.”

When pressed on non-abortion services Planned Parenthood allegedly provides, Trump said, “What I would do when the time came, I’d look at the individual things they do, and maybe some of the individual things they do are good. I know a lot of the things are bad. But certainly the abortion aspect of it should not be funded by government, absolutely.”

Trump continued, “I would look at the good aspects of [Planned Parenthood], and I would also look, because I’m sure they do some things properly and good and that are good for women, and I would look at that, and I would look at other aspects also. But we have to take care of women.”

In other words Trump is open to a status quo many conservatives find unacceptable and immoral; also a typical federal government shell game to skirt around the law. If you give Planned Parenthood money for these so-called “other things,” the abortion provider can shift money from those “other things” to abortion.

Any money given to Planned Parenthood funds abortion. Period.

Trump also made clear that he was in favor of the rape, incest, and life of the mother exceptions for abortion.

Of course he believes in all this Planned Barrenhood crap.

I can just imagine how many of his beauty queen girlfriends he knocked up, and then had them vacuumed out, all ready to start again.

I will still support him (and I don’t even like him)because he is doing what MUST be done ... devastating the GOPe. Right now, that is more important than anything else. But anyone whoever thought he was a Conservative was missing the boat big time.

Trump said what he said no matter if it was pointed out by a troll (which I'm not saying he is).

Low-information presidential candidate Trump unsurprisingly doesn’t seem to understand the following. The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for organizations like Planned Parenthood (PP).

So if Trump really wants to use federal funding to pay for the “good” things, if any, that PP is doing then he must do the following. Trump must encourage Congress to propose a non-abortion PP amendment to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify Trump’s amendment then the feds will have the constitutional authorty to fund the vote-winning “good” things that PP does and Trump will be a hero.

What I get from this is he wants to look into what other services they provide. I don’t think a block of money sent to them for services other than abortion can be trusted to that organization. There is no way to split the money - so I would think they would continue to do abortions even if they said they weren’t.

Looks like this is the issue the TDS crowd is going to rally around today. And for once I think rightfully so.

However in their zeal to find a GOTCHA! moment, it looks like the TDS sufferers didn’t carefully read what was actually said. I think the wording of DT was inartistic. however I don’t see anything in the actual quotes that says “I would continue to fund planned infanticide.”

The bigger point was that Trump acknowledged that there may be some services to women that planned infanticide provides that perhaps should be continued. And here is the point that the TDS sufferers in their zeal missed: where did DT say that planned infanticide should be the organization providing these services? Where did he specifically say that Planned Infanticide should continue to be funded? Presumably some other organization could provide those services as well. And probably cheaper. That’s where clarification is needed. Is DT proposing that other, non infanticide services should be provided by other providers or is he advocating that those services be provided by Planned Infanticide? A very important distinction. And as far as it goes, I think the TDS sufferers are correct to ask for that clarification. Heck, I want that clarified.

So I think I’ll wait for that before I fetch my pitchfork and light up my torch.
