I listened to this just a bit ago. Rush did a good job providing a fair hearing for Trump on the ‘blood’ controversy. Pretty much came down on the notion that Trump didn’t say what he was accused of saying by Erickson, and that there’s no way to prove what he meant. Except if one asks Trump who says that he meant ‘nose, ears’, but paused and just wanted to drop it and go on to the next subject.
Rush suggested getting back to the issues that got him to where he’s at. He didn’t say, as I recall, just get back to what the media means by ‘the issues’.

I agree with Rush, Trump needs to stay on target. His stance on the issues is what got him here, not the side show. But the media is going to keep trying to make Trump a side show.

I agree - he needs to get back to the issues and explain them better when on the stump. This is getting ridiculous.
If the guy from Redstate did not make an issue out of what Trump said(meaning apply his idea of what Trump meant), but just left it alone then he would not have to respond. That’s what everyones missing. He is attacked, then asked about then he responds and then people parse his words and say AH HA, got him. So disingenious.

In part the food fights have served Trump well. The guys I like, the media ignore or shut out. I can remember in past debates the serious conservative would stand there all night and field maybe one question. A serious guy like Cruz they can ignore. Trump they can’t ignore, they can’t help themselves. Its a bit like Palin, they hate her, so they would spend enormous amounts of energy pounding away at her and telling us she was irrelevant... every other article had her name in the headline as an attention grabber just to tell us she was irrelevant.
And people really don’t like the press, don’t like McCain, don’t like mealy-mouthed politicians, and so Trump’s numbers keep going up.
