If the guy from Redstate did not make an issue out of what Trump said(meaning apply his idea of what Trump meant), but just left it alone then he would not have to respond. Trump didn’t leave “the issues”. The media left them in order to get Trump.
The conservative side should try getting the media to talk about them again instead on insisting that Trump is the one making them do it.
But we know how ineffective the right is with getting the press to do anything, so they instead put the responsibility on Trump.
