When Jeb Bush is on as he was at Liberty University, his kickoff speech and at the RedState Gathering on Saturday he stands head and shoulders above the field. His command of policy, record of accomplishment in a purple state, inclusive message and refusal to pander make other contenders seem small and shallow. Bushs biggest problem, however, is that he is not always on.
Bushs debate performance was solid on substance but lacked Sen. Marco Rubios eloquence and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies pugnaciousness. He made no errors and ably defended himself on immigration reform and Common Core but seemed like he was playing not to lose.
Just two days later, he wowed the right-wing crowd at the RedState Gathering as he traversed education reform, foreign policy (Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama left Iraq creating a void that now is a caliphate the size of Indiana organized to destroy Western civilization), his conservative record in Florida, the toxicity of Donald Trump and his pro-growth agenda. (He says 4 percent growth is possible [I]f you require fixing some really big complex things, and if we do that, I promise you that people be lifted out of poverty, and I promise you the middle class will get a raise for the first time in 15 years. This should be a lofty aspiration goal but it is realistic.) In articulating his immigration plan which begins with border security, E-Verify, snaring those who overstay their visas and defunding sanctuary cities he won applause from a group for whom immigration reform is a pejorative and stuck to his view that earned legal status was ultimately the only way to deal with the 11 million here illegally. Moreover, his delivery was punchy and his sentences were crisply and confidently delivered.

Here we go from the Washington Compost.
If the media likes Jeb Bush that only diminishes him in my eyes.
Doesn’t matter though, I would never vote for him anyway.
FU media.
I don’t know what Jennifer Rubin is smoking, but it is causing some serious hallucinations.
“He made no errors and ably defended himself on immigration reform and Common Core but seemed like he was playing not to lose.”
Bush’s entire candidacy is one big error. The guy hasn’t been on the right side of any issue.
Not sure what debate Ms. Rubin was watching.
Rhetorical flourish...
They really want “Jeb the Straw Man” to win the nomination, don’t they?
LOLOLOLOL! Srsly? (p)residential? “My kids faced tough times cause they ain’t lily white due to their heritage on their mothers side.” Freakin’ waaaaaaa. Get out while you can. Just say no to yeb booosh.
Jebbifer Rubin has orders from her bosses in The Cheap Labor Express to pump up the amnesty candidates, particularly their Designated Loser, ¡Yeb!
Well if you consider looking like 0bama presidential, I’m sure he has a few of those moments.
Yup.
Take that missing 4 million voters from the Romney run and triple it. THAT’S what nominating Jeb is gonna get ya.
Jeb’s Kneepad Brigade is in full bloom.
Jeb ain’t got no flash!
Jeb Bush is on track to be the next President.
Of Mexico....
Why doesn’t the compost suggest he run with HIllary?
Ted Cruz 2016!
Did Jeb really wear a Mexican flag lapel pin at the RedState meetup?
