It doesn’t matter. It just doesn’t matter. To many of the people (including Freepers) who support Trump, what he says, what he has said, what he does, what he has done....none of that matters.
It’s a cult of personality. They like Trump, or the idea of Trump, at least. And so they shape the reality of Trump to fit the idea, facts be damned. Trump says something they like? Great, he’s the best! Trump says something they don’t like? Well, we all change our mind, he’s still the best!
The election is aways away. Let Trump slap around the GOPee, LSM, and Rats for at least a year. Concentrate your fire on Boner and Ditch.
I think people are linking a relatively successful man with a determined speech and liking the combonation
The people that call Trump a Conservative are the ones that point out how he isn't
I think most Americans are just flat out sick and frikkin' tired of the lamestream and the commies and the muzzies and all the lies and selling out .... and Trump says one thing ...
I'll make America great again
NO ONE .... Republican, Democrat nor Socialist is saying that.
Bill Clinton set this up probably
He is the master of triangulation
Poor widdle ting.
so, if jeb reverses himself tomorrow on amnesty and common core . . . VIOLA!! we have our nominee.
because, after all, people’s opinions evolve.

Let's substitute Obama for Trump:
"It doesnt matter. It just doesnt matter. To many of the people (including Progressives) who support Obama, what he says, what he has said, what he does, what he has done....none of that matters.
Its a cult of personality. They like Obama, or the idea of Obama, at least. And so they shape the reality of Obama to fit the idea, facts be damned. Obama says something they like? Great, hes the best! Obama says something they dont like? Well, we all change our mind, hes still the best!
The Dems have won the popular vote in five of the last six elections. Obama's vote totals in the two elections have been the highest two ever received by a Presidential candidate. The Dems don't seem to mind a cult of personality. Arguably, Obama has been the most trans-formative and influential President in history. He has been wildly successful in imposing his belief and value system on the entire country. In many cases, it will be impossible to reverse his policies. They may lead to our destruction, but his cult of personality has been very effective.
At least a Trump cult of personality will not be destructive. Unlike Obama, Trump loves this country.
“And so they shape the reality of Trump to fit the idea, facts be damned.”
It is just that most of us don’t have access to Trump’s complete range of facts, thoughts, statements, beliefs, opinions, and sub-conscious leanings, and the required fifteen degrees in psychology and divination to assess someone from a considerable distance, as you evidently do.
Sadly, I think you may have nailed it.
For me it’s been a brief fling with HOPE. A ten day interlude that brightened the political landscape. At this stage of my life I let go of delusions much faster than I did as a young woman.
When I see sane people trying to twist reality to fit their hopes, to make excuses we would never make for anyone else, I know it’s time to let go of my own hope this guy might be a viable choice.
I’ve learned some new information. Megyn Kelly has an ego close to Trump’s and she’s fixated on some cloudy sense of “woman as victim”...while behaving as anything but. She lacks class.

Very well said. It's sad to watch because one hopes/assumes that learned conservatives wouldn't be susceptible to such phenomenon, but alas it seems buying into these cults of personality can affect people of all political stripes.
