GOP insiders: Donald Trump is biggest loser
Politico ^ | 8-7-15 | Katie Glueck

Posted on 08/07/2015 8:43:58 AM PDT by Mozilla

Donald Trump’s first presidential debate was a disaster. That’s the assessment of Republican insiders in this week’s POLITICO Caucus, our weekly bipartisan survey of the top strategists, activists and operatives in Iowa and New Hampshire. They offered their reactions immediately after watching Thursday’s 9 p.m. prime-time debate in Cleveland. Story Continued Below Forty-four percent called the controversial real estate mogul the biggest loser of the evening, critiquing everything from his refusal to rule out a third party run, to perceived misogynistic comments to his acceptance of single-payer health care in other countries. ---- While Rubio and Bush were both perceived as winners, there was a big gap in perceptions about their respective performances. Those who characterized Rubio as the winner tended to offer glowing assessments; those who picked Bush thought he won simply by not losing.

The GOP insiders are out of touch with America. They are trying to get Jeb to win and maybe Rubio too. They want Trump out and anyone else they can't dictate what to do.

THE GOP insiders PLANNED the ambush, gave the
questions to their surrogates Wallace and Kelly,
and wrote their “review” before the ambush.

The GOP lost.
FOX “News” REALLY lost.
Kelly lost.
Wallace lost.

Mr. Trump fed them crow.

We predicted that’s what would be said,,it was already pre-determined before the debate.

GOP insiders are what got us Obama as POTUS,,so Trump should wear their “pronouncement” as a badge of honor.

GOP insiders are almost as detested by the average (non-liberal) voter as Democrat insiders. People are fed up and want a pox on both their houses, with a generous extra helping for the elite media including Faux. Trumps wins and they lose.

Not hardly. Even the democrats here in the recently blued neighborhood like his tone and answers.

Both parties are completely out of touch with the rest of the country. They are so busy plying their bases with nice little sops they have missed the massive build up of animosity toward the ruling class.

These are the same insiders that predicted Trump was going to go into the first debate over double the poll numbers of Bush, right?

The American public lost last night. Two hours of nothing but high school cat fights, perpetuated by the failing moderators.

No new policy discussion.
No new insights.
No new directions.

Just a rehash or previous statements so Kelly, Baier and Wallace could have an orgasmic *gotchya* session.

I won’t be watching Fox anymore at. all.

I have mixed feelings about Trump.

But if the Republican establishment doesn’t like him, I must give him serious consideration.

Let me see if I understand this.

Trump is being pummeled for contributing to democrats.

But the Republican donors are doing the same thing by hedging their bets and contributing to Hillary and the Republicans but everyone looks the other way.

What have I missed here?

We all must have been watching a different debate. Trump kicked butt, the talk around the watercooler was that he succeeded is showing the country what a bunch of jerks some of the candidates were, certainly how FOX news was disgraceful, and the gang up mentality of the left works on a national stage...JMO

our weekly bipartisan survey of the top strategists, activists and operatives

In other words, the very people who are the reason Trump is leading in the polls.

“While Rubio and Bush were both perceived as winners...”

It is not necessary to read beyond that phrase.

I may not be a Trump fan, but its obvious at this point that GOP Insiders have absolutely no idea what the base that they are supposed to represent actually want or expect.

Tells us all we need to know. GOP insiders are simply moderate to liberal Democrats.

And many if not most conservatives elected are cowed into going along with the Big Boys. Been that way for more years than several regular posters on FR have admitted until these last few elections.

Republican Party is necessary for conservatives to get elected, though. I'm hoping current GOPe officials are going to lose control soon, if not this month.
