BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Nine people reportedly are being monitored for possible Ebola exposure in Alabama.
AL.com reports that a patient at University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital was "exhibiting Ebola-like symptoms" Tuesday night. Hospital officials called the patient "low-risk" but are testing the person for Ebola.

Eight other people – including six rescue workers and two family members of the patient – also are being monitored after having contact with the patient, according to the AL.com report. Two of the rescue workers are under quarantine at the hospital, four emergency responders have been quarantined at a firehouse, and the two family members have been instructed not to leave their home.
Jefferson County Medical Director Edward Khan said the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been notified.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

IMO we are going to be “hit” on all fronts...to me the lull right now is like some sort of quiet before the storm. We are getting warnings like this sudden pop up of Ebola; so many financial and market warnings; and ISIS is somewhere in their cave tweeting away to recruit more. Add in the Planned Parenthood horrors (and our Senate doing NOTHING to stop it); the racial divide (Calypso Louie is spouting off again) and the ENTIRE pot is stirred.
Well, living in Tampa, that's really not that unusual...
What's a huge concern is the amount of standing water we have from weeks of rain...
