Heritage Action CEO: Conservatives 'sick' of the GOP [The GOP-E, at least]
The Hill ^ | 8/2/15 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 08/04/2015 4:52:57 PM PDT by markomalley

The chief executive of the Heritage Action for America super-PAC said on Sunday that conservative voters are weary of the Republican political establishment.

Michael Needham argued that the GOP is alienating its base by ignoring its concerns.

“Most Republican voters hate their party, and that’s what needs to be addressed,” Needham told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” “People are sick of this,” he said of the political process. “It’s a game.”

Needham charged that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is gaining traction with Americans because he is a political outsider.

Trump’s freedom from Republican leadership, he added, is winning him potential voters.

“Donald Trump is a symptom of a party who has decided they will govern based on special interests,” Needham said.

“The reason Donald Trump is getting enthusiasm is that he’s ticking off all of the right people,” he said of establishment Republicans.

“If you can identify the crux of cronyism in Washington, D.C., that’s how you start building trust,” Needham added.

Needham’s comments come as Republicans consider one of the largest presidential fields in recent memory.

The Heritage Action for America CEO said on Sunday that the party’s eventual nominee is the contender who best represents true conservatives.

“There’s going to be a candidate who says it’s time for us to change,” Needham said.

“That candidate is going to be someone who unites traditional Republicans, the Tea Party, independents and even former Democrats,” he said.

“This isn’t going to be the same drill we’ve seen all over again,” Needham added of the 2016 race.

Trump is currently leading the race for the GOP’s presidential nomination in national polls.

Sick? You are about 8 years too late. But now the light has been shown, and the GOPe are being exposed like never before.

Trump is leading because he never gives ground and never apologizes. If the ‘Pubbies would follow him, they might start enjoying the same popularity.
Unfortunately, most ‘Pubbies are too mired down in their “inside the beltway” lives. Democrats are their friends and co-workers and they don’t want alienate them.
Trump does not give a d@mn. And that is why folks love him.

...'sick' of the GOP [The GOP-E, at least]

Nope, they had it right. The GOP is dead to me.

The party went along with the GOPe far too long without cleansing the leadership. Too late!

There are too many state level activities that undercut Conservatism too. It's over for me.

Dole
Bush
Bush
McCain
Romney

If we’re honest with ourselves, the GOPe was rotten to the core since Reagan had to buck that system when he ran for President.

Next year that will have been 36 years ago.

Needham is right.

By the way, Heritage has been in the forefront of the effort to EDUCATE lawmakers and constituents about solid conservative values.

Ryan Anderson is a millennial who just wrote a solid defense of marriage—and he works for Heritage.

Heritage Action is a political wing—if you donate to them it is for political activities.

Heritage Foundation is the educational wing—and donations are tax deductible.

Anyone who takes money from the Chamber of Cronies, or voted for McConnell or Boehner is dead to me. I’ll stay home or vote Dem.

“Heritage Action is a solid organization.”

That they are. Like the Senate Conservatives Fund and the Madison Project, Heritage is on McConell’s hate list so you know they’re in good company.

The Republican party will go the way of the Whig party if they don’t provide a viable alternative to the Social Democrats.

There isn’t a significant enough distinction between the GOPE and the GOP to bother with.

They are one and the same.

America has no friend in the GOP, they are but rats.

Too busy listening to consultants tell them “if you sound angry you’ll lose your invitation to the country club”.

Trump, for all his faults, does not seem to worry about that. He’ll just build a new one.

The GOPe stands against us. It’s not that they lack the nerve, they believe we are the enemy.

It is not just that. The ‘Pubbies “go to work” with Democrats every day. How well would you take it if someone tried to turn you against your friends and co-workers?

I think they have been there too darn long.

My business boomed all through the 1980’s, thanks to RR’s massive tax cuts. It was never the same once Shrub 1 took over.

Was it a lack of confidence in the economy?

What do you attribute that to?

Reagan inspired people to shoot for the moon.

Bush immediately backpedaled on everything Reagan and raised taxes in what should have been a mild recession. The Bush family could wreck the USA single handedly
