ISTANBUL—The U.S. and Turkey have reached an understanding meant to assure the Ankara government that plans to drive Islamic State militants from a proposed safe zone in northern Syria won’t clear the way for Kurdish fighters to move in.
Officials from both countries on Monday disclosed details of the discussions that grew out of Turkey’s recent decision to step up its cooperation with the U.S. in the fight against Islamic State.
The U.S.-led coalition fighting the extremist group has conducted numerous airstrikes over the past year to back the Kurdish YPG militia in northern Syria, which has proved to be the most effective ground force fighting Islamic State.
But the U.S.-allied Turkish government is embroiled in a decades-old conflict with its own Kurdish minority. Turkey has resisted working with the YPG out of concern that the militants are laying the groundwork for the creation of a new Kurdish nation along Syria’s northern border with Turkey.
Two weeks ago, Turkey agreed to launch airstrikes targeting Islamic State fighters in Syria and allow the U.S. to use bases on its soil for the first time to do the same. At Turkey’s urging, the U.S. agreed to use airstrikes to protect a border zone free of Islamic State and controlled by moderate Syrian rebels.

I believe the Kurds were the only ones seriously fighting ISIS.
Turkey cares more about Syrian Kurdistan trying to unify with Iraqi Kurdistan, and the result it would have with their own Kurdish population.
That and the AKP seems rather fine with Islamism so long as it’s THEIR flavor.
Some mess.
The Kurds are the good guys in that mess.
So, of course, Zero is against them.
He’s always on the wrong side...Lord help us!
Which is why Obama opposes them no doubt.
I guess the Kurds are in the way.

The Kurds, of course, disrupt that supply line, and confiscate that materiel for their forces to use against Turkey and ISIS.
Remember, when the US needed to resupply NATO and US troops in Afghanistan, Turkey refused to allow the US use of their territory or airspace.
This is the new Turkey, member state of the new World Caliphate, ...the US and Turkey need the Kurds out of the way.
The Obama regime has identified the only pro US forces in the region and decided to eliminate them.

Let the Kurds have their way.
I hope that the new Trump/Cruz/West administration will fully arm the Peshmerga and then build a Middle East coalition with SA, Egypt, Jordan and other non ISIS loving hellholes and let them go at it will full rules of engagement to destroy ISIS brutally and without mercy.
Its the only way to end this mess.
