Sen. Rand Paul says pro-life Democrats hold the key to passing legislation in the Senate that would completely defund Planned Parenthood.
“There are several Democrats who say they are pro-life,” Paul tells The Daily Signal.
“It’s not a guarantee that we get all the Republicans on this,” he adds. “The vast majority of Republicans will support this but we need a few Democrats. If we can get six Democrats and all the Republicans we can actually put this on the president’s desk.”
Paul, along with Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa; James Lankford, R-Okla.; and others are leading the charge after undercover videos surfaced showing Planned Parenthood doctors discussing the sale of fetal body parts from aborted babies. The controversial organization, which has denied they profit off fetal body parts, receives more than $500 million dollars in federal dollars.

Susan Collins has already indidcated she will not go along. I’m sure there are other Democrats in R jerseys in the Senate that will not support this as well.

All this talk about needing this many or that many Senators is hooey in my opinion. The House of Representatives is the sole body charged with initiating budgeting and allocating funding.
True, funding bills have to pass Senate voting, and then endure bicameral conference committee meetings. BUT, the responsibility rests with the House - final conference committee reports regarding funding always end up with the Senate approving a revised/amended HOUSE originated bill.
If ANY funding bill initiated by them contains the proviso “no PP funds” and that body sticks to it vehemently, it doesn’t matter what Obama or the Senate does.
Grow some balls, get a backbone, listen to God and have some faith, Congressmen. Your first job is to get rid of that bastard Boehner.
These anti-abortion Democrats may be anti-abortion, but they are, without doubt, Democrats.
There is no such thing as a Pro-Life Democrat. We found this out during the push for Obamacare.

The Republicans will have their excuse for not defunding now: The Democrats will not comply. But there will be no excuse for the Republicans if they include pp funding in the next budget. My guess: The Republicans will continue to fold.

As we learned back when obamacare was passed there are no pro-life dimocrats.
