Jeb Bush's Political Apparatus Has Already Paid Mike Murphy's Firm $750,000

The longtime ally of the Republican presidential candidate is benefiting from his perch leading Bush’s super PAC.

For months, Jeb Bush's inner circle has argued that the decision for longtime top Bush confidante Mike Murphy to set up shop at the super PAC, rather than the campaign, made smart strategic sense.

New federal filings released on Friday show exactly how much it made for Murphy, in dollars and cents.

Revolution Media Group, Murphy's political firm, has had more than $750,000 pass through its Los Angeles-based offices so far in 2015, between consulting fees, Web services, early-state ad buys, and travel expenditures. The payments to Murphy came from both Right to Rise USA, the pro-Bush super PAC, which accounted for roughly $600,000 of the spending, and Right to Rise Inc., the PAC where Bush served as honorary chairman in the first half of 2015, which accounted for nearly $150,000.

In May and June alone, Murphy's firm received $261,430 in "communications consulting" fees from the super PAC. He received another $83,363 in payments that were tagged both for consulting and travel, and separately billed another $17, 913 just for travel. Murphy's firm was also paid $5,000 for digital consulting back in March.

Meanwhile, Right to Rise Inc. paid Murphy's firm $149,000, much of it for Web services and consulting in the first half of 2015.

Consultants and their firms typically receive a portion of the cost of ad buys that they make, though the exact amounts are not required to be disclosed.

Murphy, Schmidt and Wallace (among others) should be horse-whipped across the nearest international border.

Bush could have Trump’s money and it still wouldn’t get him into the White House.

These are all employees of The Cheap Labor Express.

Mike Murphy has been on board for many years.

Everybody on board The Cheap Labor Express does very well.

Yeb should be asking for his money back.

$750,000 and only 3rd place in polls?

Yeb should file a Better Business Group complaint.

For the first time in a long time, I actually believe the most money won't win the nomination of either party. Jeb's stance on illegal immigration is turning the conservatives off. Hillary's dropping "honesty/trust" numbers may stop her. Granted, it's early on and money buys lots of advertising.

I expect someone to come from behind in the GOP debates next week and weaken Trump's position because he is really not as informed as a Walker and Cruz. I'm thinking that Cruz will perform exceptionally and surprise many. As many say, Cruz is the smartest person in the room. Plus, he has been outstanding in his opposition to the Republican elites in Congress.

My biggest concern is how well Walker can debate. I support him, also, because of his record as a Governor. He has conservative Executive experience, but with the "cult of personality" that permeates our politics, he needs to distinguish himself from others and be likeable.

The rest stand no chance.

Jim Gilmore? Not a chance.
John Kasich? Not a chance.
Chris Cristie? Slight chance, but unlikeable.
Bobby Jindal? No chance.
Ben Carson? Great rhetoric but unproven with NO experience.
Mike Huckabee? Puhlease.
Rick Perry? Enough said.
Lindsey Graham? A joke.
George Pataki? Too regional.
Rick Santorum? Old news.
Carly Fiorina? Weak campaign.
Marco Rubio? Losing the conservative base.
Rand Paul? A flake like his father.

Sure I'm missing some.

So what are you saying?

I'm not voting for Jebbers under any circumstances. I don't care who his running mate is, and I don't care if Hillary gets elected.

A vote for ¡Yeb! is vote to turn the USA into North Mexico.

He’s stating clearly that he sides with illegal aliens and their employers and we will be endorsing amnesty and continued colonization of our country if we vote for him.

I join you in rejecting ¡Yeb! come hell or high water.

I’ve been saying since 2003, Stay outda Bush’s.

Jorge Delano Arbusto was a “compassionate conservative” that meant expanding government and Social Programs.

iYeb is a Hispandering Idiot. If elected, before his 4 year term is over there will be over 100 Million Illegals in this Country he will grant citizenship to with the help of Congress. At that point our Social structure collapses and we become officially a Banana Republic.

All very true. Let’s hope that his performance moves the needle, because he’s sadly in the doldrums as far as the polls are concerned. He would make an excellent president, but only if he can get himself elected.
