Goshen Mayor Allan Kauffman is proposing the City Council amend the citys civil rights ordinance to include protections for gays and transgenders and give religious organizations an exemption to the amended ordinance. The vote could come as early as Aug. 4. What do you think the council should do?

Special protections makes them more protected than anyone else.
How is that in compliance with the U. S. Constitution?
Any racial or gender considerations seems inappropriate.
Either you’re a citizen or not. You have the same protections as anyone else.
When Christians are letting these people start to enumerate and fine-tune our rights, we can just bet that our rights will be cut finer and finer.
From someone who lives in the area I am against it and I don’t think this has a chance to go through. The mayor and city council members have received an overwhelming number of calls, letters and emails, the majority in opposition to the amendment. The issue will be handed off to committee as happened in Elkhart which is probably the best we can hope for for now.
The ‘Citizens of Goshen’ are not accurately represented by an Internet poll that an Eskimo could vote on if he was able to.

So somebody, lets say Nancy, wants us to vote yea or nay on the referenced amendment without having read it.
Regardless that pro-gay activist justices and judges, along with the corrupt media, have largely ignored Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, Section 1 already protects 1st Amendment religious expression from state action, constitutionally unprotected but politically correct LGBT rights in this case.
14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Based on description of the amendment, I suspect the legislation is creeping LGBT activism.
Why does the amendment protect religious organizations as opposed to business owners, for example, who may choose to exercise their 1st Amendment-protected right of religious expression from pro-gay activist state officials for example?
This is my home town. I knew Mayor Kaufman when we were in High School. A lot of the people were upset because the school board decided to change the name of the school team. They thought the “Redskins” were offensive to liberals. What the people thought were irrelevant as they just had the name for 90 years.
