I have never even tried Marijuana. But I understand the Constitutional separation of powers; and that the Police Powers, that is the right to regulate matters related to Health, Safety & Morals, were left to the States.

Christie, here, is advertising his unfitness to be President. If the original States had wanted the Federal Government to be the determinant of issues involving local Health, Safety & Morals; they would have adopted a very different form of Constitution.

When people in the early 20th century wanted the feds to ban adult beverages, they understood that the federal govenment had no authority to do so unless the Constitution was amended to create such a power; and we got the 18th Amendment. The modern-day people who want to ban pot do not seem to understand this concept.
