I spoke with our Scoutmaster last night. He was concerned over it. It’s sad. Some of these folks just have scouting in the blood, and want to do right by the boys, and don’t agree with corporate. There may be a way to just change the charter to Trail Life (my son’s troop is sponsored by the local Elks Lodge, not a church), but the same laws that forced the Boy Scouts (public accommodation) to lose certain venues may even come back to bite alternate, church-based organizations like Trail Life and American Heritage Girls.
In all of the articles I've read since Monday's sorry decision, the GAYstapo makes it clear that they still won't be satisfied with religion/church sponsored troops putting their boys off limits. "THEIR" rights to SCOUT for BOYS trump the first amendment.
The article in my local newspaper makes it clear that the Southern Baptists will not go along with it. The Mormons (who sponsor 1 in 6 scout troops) will not either and the Catholics (who also sponsor 1 in 6 scout troops) is taking a "wait and see" approach to see if their own policies to exclude Gay leaders will be permitted as promised.
Throw in all of the other conservative Protestant sects (LCMS, etc.) with the SBC, add in the Mormons and Catholics, and you've got over half of BSA's current enrollment which will not kow-tow to the GAYstapo on this issue.
A new organization or organizations appear to be inevitable whether they decide to go it alone or join with an existing alternative such as Trail Life, USA.
The government will force them to continue to sponsor them, despite their religious objections.
Same pattern here.. Mainstream America is caving into the “feel good” belief system that ‘gays’ are just like us, that blacks really aren’t all bad, that illegals, just want a better life.
All the feel good mantras on the left are being adopted - hesitantly at first, but whole heartedly in bastions like Portland Oregon.
BUT WAIT, just wait. Pittsburgh is erupting with black youth - just havin a good time. Finally the national media are reporting on the routine murders, rapes, and felonies committed by illegals who came here to escape capture in their respective home countries. And American’s - led by feel good Boomers and their enablers in the left... have been suckers for the pablum we’ve been fed by newspapers and TV news.
WAIT until we start to get the real story on gay ‘families’... the children of gay men who will not only witness gay sex, but will be indoctrinated to it. Remember the Paula Poundstone scandal? - probably not because it went away quietly.. she seduced her own kids.. I think they were adopted. Left wing radio has been trying to resurrect her stand up career over the last year or so.
Anyone been to the Gay Pride parade on Folsom Street in San Francisco... men engaging in EVERY ACT - women too.. right on the street... members hanging out and erect along Folsom street... people WITH KIDS ON THEIR SHOULDERS... wandering around like it’s a state fair.
One spot had a sado masochist ring.. where men and women PAID to be whipped and abused. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET!
And WE are considered to be knuckle dragging monsters, illiterate, under educated white trash ... for noticing that something is not right in the “let it all hang out” America of 2015.
NO, I’m not an unemployed high school drop out who lives with my mother or under employed girl friend. I especially like that description of the demographic most likely to be homophobic, racist, and a hopeless xenophobe.
I am actually a life time self employed grandmother with gay friends since college. We have ferocious fights over this.
AND yes... the Gay Boy Scout leaders will be protected, and defended, apologized for - until they sodomize the WRONG little boy. Or enough little boys, that the pendulum swings back to where Decent Americans say ENOUGH!
The homofascists have already stated that the religious “exemption” essentially undercuts the entire premise of the policy change.
You’re absolutely correct, they’re not going to stop.
Approx. 70% of all Scouts are registered to religious institutions...granted, some are more liberal than others, but for every 1 homo or pro-homo that comes back as a result of this change, I suspect they’re going to lose 5-10 moral individuals. Not overnight, but they’re going to shrink, considerably.
I also don’t trust the BSA to honor its “promise” to defend religious institutions...they used some weasel words in that “promise” and by their actions have already shown themselves to be untrustworthy.

Don't know what, or which it might be, but it would be far better if those leaving BSA could form one alternative scouting organization. If several different ones are formed, it's unlikely that any will grow to have a widespread presence around the US.

Promotion of “Gender Theory” to children blurs Truth/God to literally destroy Chrisitan Ethics for a Marxist, irrational, evil worldview (God is Dead crowd): Males and females are interchangeable (radical egalitariainism to collapse the Natural Family and destroy children’s moral formation in artificial environments devoid of their biological parents).
Justice is the Queen of Virtue and as Montesquieu stated (and Christianity), all “Just Law” has to promote “public virtue”. Natural Law Theory is the basis of our Justice System—the Design of human beings requires the DUTY of man to care for their biological offspring. It is a Natural Duty and children have the Natural Right to biological parents—not to be bought and sold.....making “homosexual” “marriage” an oxymoron and pure evil.
When, not if, the lawsuits start flying over against the BSA due to the homosexual troop leaders molesting Boy Scouts, could sponsoring groups such as churches and other religious organizations be included in those lawsuits as well?
According to at least one Mormon Facebook friend, the BSA ignored repeated requests to reschedule Monday's vote until August when their church representatives could attend. Gates and the leadership wanted to stack the vote when they knew the opposition had previous commitments.
If true, it shows what they think of their major customers and made a break-up inevitable. Hopefully, it will come sooner rather than later so that BSA has such a financial shock they will have to sell many of their camps and other facilities to successor organizations in order to remain afloat.
I'm not hopeful that they will unite into a single alternative organization given what would be involved in a limited time. But I am hopeful that they can at least enter into some sort of time share agreement. For example, a Mormon troop in Utah lends their camp for a week to a Catholic troop there in exchange for a Catholic troop lending their camp to in Pennsylvania to a Mormon troop.
Eventually, the smaller alternative organizations would find it in their own interests to merge or at least sign these type of mutual exchange agreements.
Why can’t they be kicked out and the motions revisited?
I read where the Mormon reps were denied a postponement, so will say this is true...reprehensible, but not unexpected.
The BSA no longer tolerates dissent within the ranks.
Your suggestion about “time sharing” camps is a good one and will probably come to pass...the BSA is already losing money...sure, corporate donations help, but losing camping fees at camps, membership fees, FOS funds, popcorn sales and concession sales at trading is going to hurt.
In our area, they rent out scout camps to non scout organizations/groups to help make up for some of those losses...Scouts actually have to COMPETE with outside groups for access to Scout camps in some instances...indicates how desperate they’re getting.
I got all sorts of scare calls from their lawyers and unrelated sharks telling me how bad I would damage my credit if I let it go into foreclosure but, thanks to those credit card companies which offer free credit reports and even simulations, I found that it would, at worst, knock about 10 points off my score.
I also found out that it would cost them $150 to file a foreclosure. So I called them back stating that I would sell it back to them for the bargain price of $100. They hemmed and hawed and huffed and puffed that someone actually had turned the tables on them for a change. They sent me the signed papers two weeks later and told me that the check would follow once I signed, notarized and returned them.
The sooner this happens to B.S.A., the better. Yeah, it hurt to lose all the payments I had made, but it felt good and was most healthy just walking away from a bad deal.
