WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tonight issued the following statement after a disappointing vote in the Senate to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, a Washington institution that has become synonymous with cronyism and corruption:
"Tonight, the McConnell-Reid leadership team pushed through another win for the Washington Cartel, and they did so at the taxpayers' expense. By casting votes in favor of cronyism and special interests, the Senate made clear what group matters most to them... and the answer is not the American people.
"Worse still, the one person who had the ability to make sure the Ex-Im Bank remained expired was the majority leader. Rather than keeping the promise he made to every member of his party, he turned his back on the American people and allowed one of the worst examples of corporate welfare our nation has ever known to be resurrected from the dead.
"Instead of taking up issues that really matter to the American people, like defunding Planned Parenthood, standing up against Iran, passing Kate's Law' and ending sanctuary cities, the Senate chose to satisfy the demands of big businesses with even bigger pocketbooks.
"Fortunately, leaders in the House have indicated this bill is dead on arrival. I hope that my colleagues in the House remain true to conservative principles and stand firm in refusing to surrender to the Washington Cartel."

Cruz Rules!
The man speaks the truth.
There’s not enough evidence to turn my vote away from Cruz at this point in time. I believe this guy truly loves this country, and wants to set things straight.
I love it. The middle finger to the Washington Cartel.
Love that one, Had to post on Facebook!
Except...
Well...
Boehner.
GOPe are not one iota better than the traitors in the democrat party.
I believe that also. I also believe we are now seeing a hot scramble lighting up to assure spots in the first tier debate, in ten days. Sealing up polling points and holding their position is important to the top tier, while the other half needs to move off being tied with a half dozen others for the last two spots among the top ten.
Those below the top 8 are firing on all cylinders. Cruz is in the senate taking on our awful leadership, Huckabee chasing after the Obama-Iran castastrophe, calling it a “holocaust” moment for Israel, and Jeb flogging away at Trump for making more points with the Hispanic vote.
They were discussing this free for all tonight on Kelly File, as the debate looms. Cruz should surely make the cut.
The bible instructs us how to choose our leaders.
“Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.
Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of Gods church?)
He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.
He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devils trap.
In the same way, deacons[b] are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, the women[c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 3:1-13
Ted Cruz is the only candidate that meets this criteria
good post.
Who is saying otherwise?
Ignore them.
Did Ted Cruz coin that term, “Washington Cartel”?
If so, he’s a winner. Sums up the Congressional Culture perfectly.
CRUZ or lose in 2016!
I’ve heard him use it more than a few times.
He did. This term is used in his book, A Time for Truth.
