On Mondays edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to talk about current news in politics. Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the recent dust-up between Ted Cruz, senior Texas Senator John Cornyn and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
On the impact of Senator Cruzs recent comments on the floor of the Senate where he called Senator McConnell a liar, Mackowiak said,
Cruzs impact as a U.S. Senator is going to be minimal going forward. You know, hes going to be persona non grata within the Senate Republican leadership. And if youre a conservative you may think thats great, but if youre a Texan, you know, you might be wondering what is Cruz going to be doing the rest of his Senate term.
Mackowiak also talked about the debut Republican debate scheduled for August 06 in Cleveland, OH, and which candidates will likely be selected to appear. Hasty and Mackowiak specifically discussed Rick Perrys chances at being in the debate. The latest news on Donald Trump was also a topic in the conversation.

I don’t know this “Matt” guy, but I know he’s really stupid.
Cruz has always been persona non grata within the Senate Republican leadership.
They didn’t want him in the Senate to begin with.
Who the heck is Mac Kowiak? Never heard of the boy.
So calling a liar a liar is not a good thing to do?
AMERICA HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR PATTON FOR A LONG TIME ... AND WE WILL FOLLOW HIM
First of all, Cruz did not CALL McConnel a liar, he pointed out the FACT the he is a liar.
Second, it’s not that hard to be a force in the Senate when you are President and your party is the majority
Nonsense.
This dim bulb gets his fat little mug on Austin’s Fox Channel 7 by saying nasty things about Sen. Cruz, Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and any other conservative office holders. This is Austin’s version of “far and balanced,” which is neither. It is the most liberal Fox station in the country, and we have given up watching it.
All this drama for simply telling the truth?
You know in order to prevent retreat, Hernan Cortez scuttled his own ships.
Didn’t they say this before when he tried to shut government down?
"Death to my voters to whom I lie, lie, lie.
Long live our Moslem King and Iran and ISIS,
and we WILL continue IRS attacks on conservatives."
“In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
George Orwell
I think Cruz is going to bolt and create a new party and take a bunch of Senators with him.
Cruz is the only statesman in that body. He will outlast all of them.
The only (corrupt) defense of this manufactured brouhaha is claiming that "loyalty to party" trumps integrity and loyalty to the Constitution, the will of the majority of citizens and the welfare of the nation.
McConnell, Bush, Boehner... these guys are all Sunset Republicans.
Their pathetic little victories may win a battle but lose the war. They’re done. And they’re taking the party with them.
