The New York Times broke a story about two inspectors general demanding the Department of Justice open a criminal investigation into Hillary Clintons use of a private email system during her time as secretary of state, a report that the publication quietly altered a short time later.
Politico reported that the Times made two significant alterations to the exclusive story Thursday night, both of which appear to shift blame from Hillary Clinton in the controversy.
In the original first paragraph of the piece, the Times described the criminal investigation requested by the inspectors general as being into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state.
In the updated piece, the line instead reads into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state.

Besides, what difference does it make?
Hillary Needs A Break Ping
I guess they got a call at 3AM from Hillary.
AHA...somebody got to somebody didn’t they????
Probably hoping the headline change would lead readers to believe this story was about George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic.
She asked them to hit the reset button...
What did Hillary have to hide that was so evil, she didn’t want even her fellow Democrats to know about it?
Libya.
It’s the time honored Clinton, “ Mistakes were made...” versus “Bill or Hillary made the mistakes”. The NYT missed that the first time. They usually don’t.
Not so sure this NYT rewording is simply an attempt to distance Hillary—although, I’m sure the NYT is happy to do just that.
The rewording may, in fact, more accurately reflect the nature of the requested criminal investigation—which would necessarily include not just Hillary’s actions, but the involvement of Huma, Blumenthal, Cheryl Mills, and the whole sleazy parade of enablers and cleanup crew surrounding Hillary Clinton’s personal server. After all, it takes a village to run a criminal operation.
Remember, this is simply a request for the Justice Dept. to open a criminal probe. Why would those seeking the truth construct their request so narrowly, naming only Hillary, so as to exclude the people who actually conceived of and did the dirty work she ordered?
