For those who are gold-bricking the system this might force them back to work...

Coming up on an election year, nobody is going to get a SS cut.

The majority are able-bodied and should go get work.

No problem for the sleazy lawyers that have already pocketed their take on the fraudulent claimants. They got their cut at the outset.

Not fair!

This another ‘made for Trump’ issue. one that he’s already touched on.

Not fair.

trust fund will run out of money in late 2016. That would trigger an automatic 19 percent cut in benefits
Amazing - there will be no money in the fund but "magically" the payments will still go on. What a great country.

And speaking of trigger, I need to buy some ammo. Because if they cut SS benefits, we're gonna need it.

“unless Congress acts”

Yup, just pile more money on it. This is why govt should get out of the charity business. Costs go way out of control.

I do believe, however, that paying for vets is a different story, as they put their life on the line for the country, even if they didn’t actually wind up in combat.

No, they won’t be.

This is a standard Democrat “gin up the turnout” operation.
Granted it’s starting up a bit early.

I wonder if “O’s” low information supporters will riot over THIS!

They can thank HIM for putting them in THIS jackpot!

I understand a huge number on disabilities are covered because of fraudulent claims of injuries certified by dishonest doctors. IMO all who receive this benefit need to be recertified every five years or so by a doctor other than the original one.

These scare articles show up every few years.

They are BS.

Congress will vote the funds. After all, they just need the Treasury to turn on the money printers and sell the debt to China or Japan or Germany or some other nation. If that fails, they can get phony Monopoly money from Parker Bros.

If they got rid of the disability fraudsters, they’d probably have enough to fund the truly disabled.

SSDI will be saved as it has been 11 times before by shifting T-bills from the SSTF into the DI Trust Fund.

Surprise. Surprise.

Obama encouraged unemployed workers to apply for Disability so Obama’s unemployment numbers did not look so bad.

Now the Disability well has run dry because of Obama’s chicanery.

Will the GOP Elite call Obama on the carpet for his tricks?

Doubt it.

Maybe the Disability Scam is the next one for Trump to highlight.

A few times during the Summer I sell some household junk at the local Flea Market. I would say about half the guys selling there are on SS Disability. One guy was a drug addict ,(hooked on the needle) another guy told me he collects because going to a job made him nervous and his nerves couldn't take it. I kid you not.

the federal government’s largest benefit programs are feeling the strain of aging baby boomers spending all their receipts on foolish government spending programs instead of investments.

Oh no. Can't blame the looters of the trust funds!

For a long time, the US military has vetted its disabled, who must be periodically re-evaluated to insure they are actually disabled. While this has the rare boo-boo, such as questioning an amputee whether they are still disabled, for the most part, it does police up many gold brickers.

No reason in the world such vetting shouldn’t be used in the civilian world. Every fraud in the system deprives the legitimately disabled of benefits.
