'I did it for fun': Donald Trump on giving out rival Lindsey Graham's phone number
The Business Insider ^ | 7/22 | Colin Campbell

Real-estate developer Donald Trump said Wednesday that he had no regrets about announcing the personal cell-phone number of a rival presidential candidate, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), at a rally.

"I did it for fun, and everybody had a good time," Trump said in a "Fox & Friends" interview.

Trump raised eyebrows Tuesday when, in the middle of a speech in Graham's home state, he mocked the senator for once reaching out to him for help.

"He called me four years ago, ... I didn't even know who he was," Trump declared, holding up a piece of paper with Graham's cell-phone number written on it.

"So I don't know, give it a shot," he told his supporters after reading out the number. "Your local politician. He won't fix anything, but at least he'll talk to you."

I love how Trump just keeps ticking off the elites. I’d love to know what Graham and McCain are saying behind closed doors. They are most likely squealing like stuck pigs.

Now Watch the MSM or liberalsrespond by getting ahold of Trump’s tax returns and posting them on the Internet.

That’s the problem. Eventually he’s going to have to start delivering some concrete ideas for getting things done. I suspect this bravado will keep up through the first debate. We’ll see how he does there and how he’s received, by both the viewing audience and the other candidates.

To me, that will determine whether he becomes a Newt or continues to run through the first few primaries and Iowa.

Trump clearly was showing disdain for a man who at one point was begging him for money and giving him his phone number and at another point was being called a jackass multiple times by that very same man.

To prove the truth of his statement that Lindsay Graham of South Carolina, who would have no reason to talk to Donald Trump except to beg for money, had contacted him, Trump read off the actual contact sheet the actual number

Trump PROVED that Lindsay had been begging from him in the recent past.

Trump is putting the pizzaz back into politics. I’m really enjoying this. Putting the stuffed shirts in their place. I love it.

It is not wise to trifle with The Donald....

Every one of the other Republican candidates has a choice right now, three choices, really. One if to continue to attack The Donald, another is to shut up about what The Donald is doing altogether and pursue the agenda that particular candidate may consider to be most important, or finally to either openly or tacitly support the assertions The Donald is making about international trade, illegal immigration, climate change, entitlements, Obamacare, gun control, taxes, and the recently concluded “agreement” with Iran.

Do not fire popguns at cannon loaded and aimed in what could very quickly be in your direction.

Trump knows how to get things done... look at his businesses ...

As far as the VA and border problems go .. most of our elites know the solutions they just don't do them.

That's where Trump would be at his best.

Trump's not part of the ‘elite incompetent ones’ in DC who are more worried about the right wines, fashionable clothing, and ‘oh so well spoken apologies’... They fret while vets are dying and are country's invaded by illegals ...

It was somewhat juvenile, yes.

But c’mon, seeing the pompous progressive princess Lindsey Graham mocked in this manner is quite satisfying.

He really does think he’s better than everyone else because he’s a senator, and I’ll bet the messages he’s received told him otherwise.

Not a good idea but I really got a great laugh. Keep up the good work Trump. Shaking up this bunch of worthless Washington bunch is the only way to expose how useless they are.

Lindsey Graham is a ‘rival’ in the same sense your 7th grade Pop Warner football team is a rival to Ohio State.

I thought it was very funny.
It's nice to get something to laugh about for a change.

He running for Frat President? Sure seems like it.

Well, Congress sure acts like an Animal House.

Actually, the frat boys in Animal House accomplished something, and one went on to become a Senator.
