There have been posts questioning the conservative credentials of each of those candidates. Fewest for Cruz, but some consider him an establishment guy in conservative clothing. And Rubio fails the immigration test, according to others. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Getting confusing out there!

Refer to post 13 as an example.

One of the more important elements that many conservatives overlook for 2016 is which candidate is more electable in a general election...

Conservative make up about 30 % of the population...to win we need to have a candidate that is likable across the voter spectrum...

Between Walker and Cruz, I think Walker is more palatable to moderate voters or call them independent voters than Cruz...

——Moderate Reps one step away from being RINOs.——

Your etymology about a racial slur is incorrect. At least it’s at variance with commonly accepted theories.

Our family was blessed to serve as parents for exchange students from Colombia - all from the same extended family. The first to live with us was nicknamed “Negrita.” She explained that endearment was bestowed upon her because in the sun her skin would go from pale to very dark in a short time. Thus, she translated for us: little black girl. An aside - an acquaintance was offended by this story despite my explanation of different cultures...

Appreciate your post, Dick. Although Mr. Trump is voicing the whispers of many - and should continue to express himself, despite perceived “political incorrectness” - I do not think he is a viable, in-for-the-long-haul candidate. I think he is a “pot-stirrer,” IMHO, someone who purposely raises issues/makes statements to create commotion for a reason. At minimum, there is debate! Hopefully, he is bulldozing debris from the path and paving way for the better candidate.

Not better on immigration. Rubio's Gang of 8 bill would have tripled legal immigration over the next decade (30 million) and doubled the guest worker programs to 1.4 million a year.

Immigration, legal and illegal, is destroying this country and will make the Dems the permanent majority party. Immigration is not the issue, it is the only issue when it comes to the future of this country. It affects every major existential challenge facing this country.

In 2010, 23 percent of immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) lived in poverty, compared to 13.5 percent of natives and their children. Immigrants and their children accounted for one-fourth of all persons in poverty.

n 2010, 36 percent of immigrant-headed households used at least one major welfare program (primarily food assistance and Medicaid) compared to 23 percent of native households.

n 2010, 29 percent of immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) lacked health insurance, compared to 13.8 percent of natives and their children. New immigrants and their U.S.-born children account for two-thirds of the increase in the uninsured since 2000.

There are 10.4 million students from immigrant households in public schools, accounting for one in five public school students. Of these students, 78 percent speak a language other than English at home. Overall, one in four public school students now speaks a language other than English at home.

Of adult immigrants (25 to 65), 28 percent have not completed high school, compared to 7 percent of natives. The large share of immigrants with relatively little education is one of the primary reasons for their lower socioeconomic status, not their legal status or an unwillingness to work. At the same time immigration added significantly to the number of less-educated workers, the share of young, less-educated natives holding a job declined significantly. The decline began well before the current economic downturn.

Probably right and, if so, the guy will deserve the Medal of Freedom from whoever gets the job. If a Democrat, all bets are off and this place is TOAST!

The presence of Perot put a cog in Bush’s second run. Knowing that Bush had to work with Democrats and passed a dumb tax increase that started with those Democrats wasn’t so bad versus the criminal we got in Bill Clinton.

Perot was the “I’m not Bush” candidate as much as Trump will most likely be. Currently he’s being a great distraction from the Iraq deal as well as candidates who we should look at that do not have a background in playing on the DNC side and bolstering/nursing the enemies of the US through.

Never forget, part of what makes up the Clinton foundation is a 100k donation from Trump.

Sideshow Trump hopefully will fizzle out so we can get on with real concerns such as the fact ol’ Valerie is Iranian and John Kerry has a son in law who.. is Iranian.
