Scott Walker tells undocumented worker that immigrants must follow the law

PLAINFIELD, Iowa — As presidential hopeful Scott Walker toured a farm in this tiny town where he lived as a child, he was confronted by an undocumented worker from Mexico who is living in Wisconsin and demanded to know why Walker does not support President Obama's plan to give temporary status to some undocumented workers, including parents of children who were born in the United States.

"We're a nation of laws," Walker, the Republican governor of Wisconsin, repeatedly told Jose Flores, 38, who was joined by two of his four children, Luis, 7, and Leslie, 13, who had tears rolling down her cheeks throughout the exchange. Flores, who lives in Waukesha and works for a medical supply factory, said he and his wife live in fear of being deported and separated from their children, who he said were all born in the United States.

"My point," Walker said, "is that you have to follow the law, follow the process."

“But the Flores family waited by his campaign bus and approached him again, an exchange that was captured by reporters and three immigration activists, one of whom drove the family to Iowa.”

In other words, an ambush.

[5:00 video]

Very good impromptu exchange at a stop during a stop at a farm in Iowa. Gov. Walker is very firm with the family, inc their young son.

First few seconds low sound but it quickly clears up.

More on this topic.

Yes.

In the video it looks like a media set-up but he makes a point of stopping to talk with them.

I think, how would Hillary have handled this sort of questioning?

A setup to give Walker favorable press? That’s my first thought. Helps distance from friend Rubio and GOPe. Sorry, don’t trust him.

Flores, who lives in Waukesha and works for a medical supply factory, said he and his wife live in fear of being deported and separated from their children, who he said were all born in the United States.

He might just find himself back across the border, now that we know where he lives and works.

I'm curious about this "medical supply factory". Would that be GE Medical? CEO Jeffrey Immelt, Obama advisor on jobs?

How come other companies in Wisconsin have to file paperwork proving that employees are legal residents and hold valid SS numbers? It seems that this "medical supply factory" may be in a bit of trouble here.

I do not need to watch the video to know that Walker is just posturing. He is elsewhere, in another current thread, supporting amnesty. You can trot out all of the spam you want but the simple fact his he is either dense or think we are too ignorant to realize he is supporting amnesty. I don’t think you are so stupid to not realize this so please don’t try sleight of hand on this. Amnesty is amnesty and any legalization of illegal aliens is rewarding them for their illegal actions and is thus amnesty.

I think, how would Hillary have handled this sort of questioning?

Hillary would walk by them, doing that "pointy" thing she does making it look like she actually knows somebody wherever she is, hop in the SUV, and speed away to the next "unplanned" coffee shop "listening" thingy.

Here’s a great comment from the site...

“I keep hearing about “shadows.”

Is demanding a presidential candidate reward you for sneaking in to the country, confident that no one will make any attempt to deport you as you brag about sneaking in to the country, “hiding in the shadows?”

This seems more like “taunting Americans while in the spotlight.””

Exactly. And Walker should have told him he was violating our laws and should take his family home, to self-deport to avoid arrest and deportation. And the company, what is Walker going to do to ensure that the company is investigated, officials prosecuted, and the company fined or even closed for hiring illegal aliens?

Why didn’t he take out his cell phone to call ICE, right there and then, to deport the complaining (criminals) lowlifes?

Why are you giving advice to Walker on his exchange at this stop before you’ve even watched it?

to follow the law, illegals would have to return to their country of origin.

anyone not demanding that is condoning their behavior
