I think his parents did set it up for him in a way that it would collect interest and he would he would be ok financially down the road. When he turned 18, he was able to get all the money. Since it was his settlement, I don’t think there was anything his parents could have done. Sad, really. Now he is destitute and those ‘friends’ of his are long gone.

Man, I would kill for $90,000 to pay for my college. I don’t understand how the idiot could squander that money.
