I just got back home after taking my Wife to the doc for a test. The office door has a, “No Weapons,” sign on it. Since it’s not a legal sign, I was CCWing the whole time. Nobody knew I was, either (Except my Wife).
As the Tennessee Marine recruiting office murder story was being played on the TV in the waiting area, I engaged in a conversation with the ladies at the desk. The TV showed the, “No Weapons,” sign at the Marine Recruiting office’s door, and I pointed that out to the ladies and asked them, “Do you people have armed security here in your office?”
They replied, “No. Only at the main hospital down the hill. We have no armed or unarmed security here.”
I then asked, “Well, do any of you have your concealed carry permits? Reason I’m asking is because they seem to be targeting places that have signs on their doors like yours.”
They replied with, “No. None of us have that. We’d really hope that they would bring some security people here eventually, though. We’re afraid someone will pull a gun here thinking they’d be able to get some drugs or something -and we don’t have ANY drugs here at all. There’s also the problem of storing patients’ firearms. We don’t have secure lockers to store them in when they go in the back to see the doctors.”
So I said, “How about changing your sign to read, “No weapons except for licensed concealed carriers? I mean, it’s the people who are legally carrying guns every day who are licensed that are NOT the problem. We’re not the ones you’d ever have to worry about, right?”
They all nodded in agreement.
I continued: “At least a sign like that would act as SOME method of deterrence for you. I mean, SOMETHING’s better than nothing when it comes to the safety of you folks and your patients.”
By then, my Wife was done with her testing.
And we left that thought to walk around in their heads as we said goodbye.
With any luck, every time they come to work and see that sign, they’ll remember our conversation.
I hope it sinks in.
Soon.
Good job!! I think I would have enjoyed being part of that conversation. I’ll take a closer look the next time I visit my doctors office, but I haven’t noticed such a sign.
I just OC. And smile sweetly.
Never will I go anywhere willingly unarmed......never. Obama has races at each others throats, empowering criminals of all races and opening doors on a daily basis for terrorists....... Gun up people....seek out professional training, firearms and proper carry gear......
Stay Safe Flagg !!
Well played, sir. Very well played.

Naw. It won’t sink in. It is a leftist doctor who put up the sign.
I do the same thing, brother.
We all have a 6 foot sphere of personal influence. We should use it.
I carry every where I go regardless of signage. Concealed means concealed. A metal detector is my only filter to carry or not. I do not go into places that serve alcohol and I do not fly, so I am good. I carry on my kids’ private school grounds and in church.
