He broke a bone in his neck. He is very lucky its not even more serious. When the elderly fall at home they are more likely to die from that than anything else. My neighbor died a few weeks ago from a fall at home, she was 87, refused to ever walk with a cane, she was stubborn that way, wanted to be independent. At this age you just have to be extra careful..Prayers UP for President George HW Bush

An interesting statistic I learned in the last year:

The majority of Senior Citizens (65+) who fall and break a hip are typically dead 18 months later.

My rheumatologist told me that. My mother fell and broke her hip, she passed just over a year later.

My friend shattered her hip at 95.

She lived fully for another 6.5 years....
