Syria’s Butcher Really Won the Iran Deal
The Daily Beast ^ | 15 July 2015 | Michael Weiss

There’s one person ecstatic about the Iran deal and Washington would probably prefer he just keep his mouth shut: Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Professing in a cable to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that the newly agreed upon nuclear accord between the world’s major powers was a “historic achievement,” Assad went on to note his satisfaction that this would only strengthen Iran’s work for “peace and stability…in the region and the world.”

Translation: Iran will further finance and militarily bolster Assad’s crumbling regime, not to mention other affiliates and proxies.

Good analysis.

If it hurts ISIS and the Sunni effort, ill be happy. If Syria falls, Christians will be killed in a mass genocide.

Very perceptive.

This deal was about money (and bribes). Nothing was going to change with nukes.

Iran’s GDP is less than $500 billion, so this deal’s $100 billion (eventually much more) handover to Iran will finance more chaos in the Middle East and terrorism in the West.

I’ve concluded it’s just Western politicians taking bribes with little ideology involved.

While I’m not happy with the deal I fully agree that the last thing the Christians or Israel need is for ISIS to be in control of Syria.

Absolutely the case. Christians were protected in Syria under Assad.

Obuma and his thugs wanted to overthrow Syria on behalf of the muzzie brotherhood.

Obama blew his chance to tame Assad when he offered to share Intel with us to take on ISIS.

Sure Assad’s intentions were anything but honorable but we held all the cards and could have gotten major reforms out of him.

There are those who believe that Bashar al-Assad is to be the anti Christ.

Assad may be a son of a bitch but he’s a secular son of a bitch who protects the Christians.

I watched that last night. Good interview.

With obama’s new pals, the Iranians, it may be more difficult to do anything in Syria.

We may be best leaving him in power and letting him take care of the rebels and isis in Syria.

I agree. I don’t understand why we try to take sides in this Shia vs Sunni fight. They all hate us. Of course, they are willing to accept our aid, but they would turn on us in an instant. The real threat to the US is the massive influx of Muslims into our country.

Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and Hillary seem to all be overly influenced by the muslim brotherhood. That is who is directing our middle east policy.

I rather Shia because at this moment they’re less radical than Sunni. Funny because it was the other way around in 1979.

Moreover, and happily for Assad, he now has the US as his new ally: Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, the US, all united under the banner flown by the mad mullahs of Iran ...

Obama’s fundamental hatred of all thing American comes to fruition as he abandons the Sunni Arabs and takes up cause with the Shiia 12er Sect in Iran ...The human extinction movement gain real momentum. Thanks VJ!

Yep. If you aren't a SOB you won't rule in much of the Middle East or Africa. Westerners tend not to get that.

However, targeted regimes by the MB and the Obamites included SOBs who kept the peace internally and really were not misbehaving much after Saddam got taken down.

It was all a power play for the MB, but not for regional stability.

Bare with me...

I believe Assad would welcome an air strike by Israel on Iran via Syrian territory. Assad would let it, watch it, happen.

Assad would be a major benefactor in the aftermath of such an attack.

Both Iran and Russia might significantly step up support for Assad. Both Iran and Russia would argue Syria must be stabilized by any means.

It’s also a political banaza for Assad.

Interesting, the terrorist Kuntar hit: http://www.israeltoday.co.il/default.aspx?tabid=178&nid=17609

Yeah, Assad is better than ISIS and ISIS is the worst of all.

Attempts to have neutral militias fails; but nonetheless, there apparently are a ton of independent militias there, independent from ISIS or Assad.
