Surprise! Homeland Security Chief Doesn’t Know Who Kate Steinle Was
Pajamas Media ^ | 07/15/2015 | Michael Walsh

The Obama administration seems to be devoted to the proposition that nearly every important official should look, sound and act as much like Barack Obama as possible, right down to their ignorance (“I read about it in the papers”) and their inability to pronounce words and names in the news. So this, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, is entirely in keeping:

Jeh Johnson, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, appeared not to know the identity of the woman murdered in San Francisco earlier this month by an illegal alien who had been deported numerous times. Johnson was asked in a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday about the July 1 murder of Kathryn Steinle. The 32-year-old, who went by the name Kate, was shot in broad daylight by Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, a 45-year-old illegal alien with seven felonies and five deportations on his record.

Asked about Steinle, Johnson mispronounced her name. “In terms of the San Francisco case, Kate Steinle,” Johnson began in response to a question from Michigan U.S. Rep. John Conyers, “and I hope I’ve pronounced her name correctly.” Steinle’s name is pronounced “Stine-lee.” He pronounced it “Stine-ul.”

Okay, well, nobody’s perfect. His boss pronounces “corpsman” as “corpse-man,” and just because Obama is commander in chief of the armed forces doesn’t necessarily mean he knows a thing about military terminology. But Johnson seems remarkably thick even by Obama standards:

Later during his testimony, Johnson was again asked about Steinle and her family, which has been heavily critical of sanctuary cities since her murder. “Has the administration reached out to the Steinle family, to your knowledge?” Ohio U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot asked.

“To who?” a perplexed Johnson asked.

“To the family of the woman who brutally murdered by this individual who had committed seven different felonies in four different states and my understanding had been deported, kept coming back, has the administration reached out to that family?” Chabot said.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to that question sir,” Johnson responded.

We have the answer at PJ Media right here.

In the meantime, Obama sends messages to each of the 46 drug dealers he pardoned but makes NO CONTACT with Kate Steinle's family.

Why WOULD he know who she was?

He’s an Obama acolyte and she was a “typical white person”.

White lives don’t matter. He knows exactly who she is. I’m sure he was thoroughly briefed on all the details and his lying is part of a plan to minimize discussion.
The Rats and RIno’s won’t let the lives and health of thousands of citizens stand in the way a the swing hispanic vote. One hispanic vote is worth 10 white votes to them.

I found Johnson's reaction appalling. But typical of the Obama Admin. I suspect he was programmed to react that way. Why should they care about Ms Steinle? Only Black Lives Matter in Obamaland. And her murder put the lie to the Left’s premise of sanctuary cities being a good idea. Obamaland will only continue as long as Obama has control of Government/Big Media......hopefully we can subvert the Left’s cheating in the the 2016 election and get someone into the WH who loves this country enough to strike down everything Obama has done to destroy the once great USA. ALL LIVES MATTER to good and honest people. If we can gain the WH, there will have to be a complete housecleaning of all the traitors Obama has installed in every Govt Agency. A big task......who is up to it?

Judge orders Jeh Johnson, Homeland Security chief, others to court (facing contempt order)

Federal judge Andrew Hannen, Brownsville, Texas has threatened to hold DHS Secy Jeh Johnson and top US immigration officials in contempt. The DOJ said about 2,000 individuals had been sent three-year work authorizations after Judge Hanen temporarily blocked Obama's immigration action Feb. 16.

The judge had issued the injunction at the request of a coalition of 26 states, led by Texas, which filed to stop Obama’s action as unconstitutional. An appeal of Hanen’s ruling is set to be argued Friday before the 5th U. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.

Obama's program protects young immigrants from deportation if they were brought here illegally as children and extends deportation protections to parents of US citizens and permanent residents in the country for some years. Republicans said Obama overstepped his authority.

Hanen requested govt officials attend an Aug. 19 hearing and “be prepared to show why he/she should not be held in contempt of court." “This court has expressed its willingness to believe that these actions were accidental and not done purposefully to violate this court’s order. Nevertheless, it is shocked and surprised at the cavalier attitude the government has taken with regard to its ‘efforts’ to rectify this situation,” Hanen wrote.

Requested to attend: R. Gil Kerlikowske, commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection; Ronald Vitiello, deputy chief of the US Border Patrol; Sarah Saldaña, director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and Leon Rodriguez, director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services. DHS spokeswoman Marsha Catron emailed that her agency and the DOJ are reviewing Hanen’s order.

Rodriguez's court documents filed in May, said his agency had implemented “immediate corrective measures,” including revoking the permits and modifying computer systems to prevent issuing such permits in the future.

"Illegal immigration across the SW border is on
pace for the lowest year since 1972." Secy Johnson
claimed success a year after the surge of illegals
exposed major holes in US policy. (washingtontimes.com)

==============================================

So where's all the DHS Billions Johnson requested
(1) for border security, and, (2) for (cough) administering laws
that would have protected Kate Steinle from violent illegals?

Homeland Security seeks $41.2 billion budget for 2016
February 4, 2015 6:30 AM By BioPrepWatch Reports

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced a $41.2 billion budget request Monday for the 2016 fiscal year.

The budget would improve the unity of effort at the department, Johnson said, focusing on “harmonizing DHS business processes.” Along with the budget, a new Common Appropriations Structure was also submitted to Congress, which would standardize financial planning, programming and budgets for all DH agencies, Johnson said.

There are five areas the department focuses on each year, and the budget is in alignment with those five missions, Johnson said.

<><> The first mission is to prevent terrorism and enhance security in the country by implementing security for the land, air and at sea.

<><> The next mission is to secure and manage the country’s borders, and reduce the number of illegal immigrants and amount of contraband getting into the United States.

<><> The third mission includes enforcing and administering immigration laws and providing safe and secure detention of illegal immigrants in federal custody if they are a flight risk or a public safety concern.

<><> The fourth mission deals with safeguarding and securing cyberspace, which impacts economic security. The 2016 budget would invest in technology and staff to reduce cybercrime and improve the security of federal network defenses.

<><> The fifth mission, Johnson said, is to strengthen national preparedness and resilience so the country can prepare and respond to any type of disaster. <> Johnson said before Congress approves any funding for the next fiscal year lawmakers should approve funding for the current year.

“The President’s FY 2016 Budget provides the resources necessary for the Department of Homeland Security to further strengthen our efforts to fulfill our wide-ranging missions, while also being agile and vigilant in the face of ever-evolving threats and recent world events,” Johnson said. “But prior to acting on the FY 2016 Budget, I urge Congress to fully fund DHS for the rest of this fiscal year, as the current continuing resolution is disruptive, creates uncertainty, and impedes efficient resource planning and execution.”
