Texas secessionists kick off statewide speaking tour to campaign for a break from the Union

A group of Texas secessionists is hitting the road to bring their message of a Lone Star nation to more than 20 cities across the state.

Today, the Texas Nationalist Movement is kicking off their "Take Texas Back Tour," with speaking dates booked at hotels and other venues throughout North, East and Central Texas. The group says it aims to collect signatures to get Texas secession on the 2016 ballot. That isn't actually possible—only the legislature can get referendums on the ballot in Texas—but the separatists hope to court volunteers and supporters across the state.

Sunday, the Movement created a collection of Facebook events for each of their bookings. So far the highest number of confirmed guests will turn up this evening in Tyler—88 people—and on Wednesday in Fort Worth—62 people. Most of the seminars are booked at hotels, and other cities including Marshall, New Braunfels, Austin, Corpus Christi, Conroe and Dallas.

The TNM could not be reached for comment Monday. A secretary said all officials were out on the tour. In a statement on the group's website, president Daniel Miller said, "This tour is our way of connecting with the thousands of Texans who have pledged their support to our cause and makes a statement about the direction of the Texas Nationalist Movement. The relentless march to identify, communicate with and organize TNM supporters who are seeking to work for the independence of Texas is paramount at this point."

Personally I would take great joy seeing California and the Northeast becomes a communist hellhole. It would be great entertainment. So you have choice stay in the perfect weather and become a communist or find a place to have real freedom.

I could be wrong but if Texas slit off I am sure Jim Robinson would be the first to move there.

I bet the passport will look better. Now I really wish the TX Constitution will outlaw liberals and deport them.

Texas wants to save itself

Texas does, or the few hundred people willing to attend Texas Nationalist meetings?

If there ever were a referendum on secession in Texas, the actual Texas electorate would crush the idea in a landslide.

Whatever happened to kicking the living snot out of anyone who tries to destroy our nation?

You realize that this includes the Praetorian Guard, as well?

If you start up, you must kill the King, AND the Lords.

I view this as a surrender. It’s surrenders the other 49 states.

No it's not...it's the beginning of a movement.First Texas...then (among others) Georgia...Tennessee...Nebraska...Oklahoma...South Carolina...Alaska...Kansas,maybe even Missouri,Indiana,North Carolina...

And the list goes on.

If they actually could pull secession I’d be there in a minute.

This is my thinking as well. The Liberal part of the rest of the United States is turning the nation into a third world cesspool of depravity and financial miss management.

Both parties will turn us into Greece eventually anyway including 90 percent or more of those who call themselves “conservative” in this country to get votes at election time with an R next to their.

When Scotland tried to break away from the UK, the big business and banking elites that run politics made threats.

That’s what will happen if it comes to Texas wanting to go its own way.

Not at all. Unshackled by Liberal stupidity, the economics of the free states will destroy the Liberal insanity states.

As time goes on, we simply reconquer the Liberal enclaves and incorporate laws against Liberalism.

DC would go to war again to prevent secession by heavily black Deep South states, protecting minorities and all.

The central part of the US - TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, MT, WY, ID, and UT might be more likely.

What would it accomplish to make 49 states full blown Leftist hell holes?

That the people who advocate leftist ideas would then be obliged to perish with them?

I say toss them into their cesspool and let them perish with their vile ideas. Once enough of them are dead, the remaining survivors will be more reasonable.

“If they actually could pull secession I’d be there in a minute.”

Well, it might take you more than a minute to get a Visa to be let in at the border.I'm not sure how they would let the good people in, and the bad people out with out strict borders and immigration control.

In a coming financial collapse, the cities will be their own graves. They will have done it to themselves. Their ideas are "self-purging."

H/T to our FRiend bob_denard for the post.

While not strictly the usual for the Watchman List, this could still be for your consideration.

While I personally do not believe a secession movement will gain any traction, should there be a groundswell of support for the idea, we may see the full weight of the Leftists come down hard upon them - and they must be prepared for that: MSM, social media, the activist judiciary, and the Executive Branch as a whole.

For thus has the Lord said unto me:
“Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees.”

Yeah, that was my thought when I read the article. My post was in response to “why don’t they fight for the Union?” The “Union” is what we need protection from. Pardon my grammar.

Unless you have 10 trillion in your pocket, the US is already dead. And every year it’s animated corpse remains, there is another half trillion of debt needed to keep it animated. It is over. Done. Time to plan the future.
