Ate there once back in the late 80's. Like you, I got violently ill about 12 hours later.
I did go back some years ago to try their "market fresh sandwiches" which were actually darn good!
No ARBY's left near me, not sure where they went.
I spent almost 10 years in the Advertising field so responses such as Arby's are of course, in and of themselves an extension of their marketing and branding. It takes a certain amount of bravado to pull it off, I think Arby's did that quite successfully here.
Happened to me at a BK when I was a child. Nasty. It took me years to even try it again. Still vomit inducing.
