As of now, they’d still have to file some sort of official court, recorded action, IMO. They are heading there for sure, but that’s why they want these laws eased up. So they can capriciously deny an application based on near hearsay.
I learned 20 years ago here in Georgia one does not need a f@cking approval from NICS to buy a weapon if you have a WCL. You fill out the Form 4473 to the seller’s satisfaction and pay for the gun and go. Over and done.
Now, if they revoked the agreement between the state and federal government that a qualified and background-checked CWL holder needn’t be subjected to that, I’d be incensed. Very pissed. They don’t even have the right to put any conditions as to whether I want a gun or not in my opinion. That question is up to my local authorities at best.

While there is plenty of violence in Detroit you generally don’t see the mass shootings in schools or churches sort of thing. While Michigan schools don’t officially allow staff to be armed, concealed carriers can carry in schools as long as they carry openly. Its not ideal but its better than nothing.
There were several people wounded at a block party shooting a couple weeks ago but I don’t count it because that was a gang thing and nobody knows nuthin.
The last targeted mass shooting attempt was 4 or 5 years ago when some idiot launched an attack on a police station of all places. (he’s dead BTW)
His dad gave him money for a birthday present. His son bought the gun on his own.

I read this and thought this is an act of war now, my second thought was to start driving to washington with my gun.
That’s what I thought I read: that his Dad bought the .45 and gave it to his insane, white supremacist son.
That might leave the Dad open to prosecution and it doesn’t satisfy the Democrats’ constant argument of impotent/not enough gun laws.
Of course there are never enough laws to make the country as safe as Chicagoland.

At first they weren’t sure where the gun came from, then the story was that Dylan Roof bought it and the FBI `screwed the pooch’ on the 4473 form.
I’ll believe this is a graphologist corroborates it was Dylan Roof, and not the Dad.
IN any event, if the FBI messed up why not correct/improve their procedures instead of passing another law that criminals will ignore, like all the other gun laws?
Because the left never misses an opportunity to milk a crisis, like Obama ginning-up the whole confederate flag banning BS at the church because Roof was photographed with one.
Make the entire country EXEMPT from Obamacare...except the Supreme Court and both Houses of Congress.
Not a loophole, it’s there to keep them from making a political decision or act on orders from a politician to pocket veto someone’s application and deprive them of a firearm. If there’s a problem it’s because government and government agencies can’t be trusted.
If passed, they would slow walk background checks. Blatantly Unconstitutional.
We should consider that a perfectly legitimate trigger for the removal of Obama and minions from office at rifle point by the military.
