I’ve been hearing this demand for over 3 decades now, but instead, they seem to be growing in number...
It takes time away from what nearly all politicians (including most Republicans) see as their primary responsibility -- foremost above all else including defending and preserving the Constitution -- that being preservation of their power.

Exactly. That’s what all those “votes” are about ... show. They know there is ZERO chance they will become law, and don’t even want them to become law. They know it will get just enough conservative voters to say “see! He believes [fill in the blank]. All they need is the “hold the nose” vote.
The obvious example is a gazillion votes to repeal Obamacare. You need a couple of those max then move on and do something to further the Conservative cause.

Soooo...if a gay couple goes to a Muslim owned bakery, and THEY are refused on religious grounds, the Muslim bakery will receive the same treatment, I suppose.
