Rush has it right, as usual. Lately, El Rushbo has been commenting about how conservatives are beginning to wake up. I believe he’s used the phrase, “scales are falling from eyes.”
What’s dawning on conservatives is that fixing America is about more than fixing politics and government. It’s about the culture and society. Politics and government are subsets of the greater problem: a rotting culture that leads to a frayed and weakened society. In the absence of strong societal institutions and morality based on nature and reality, tyranny isn’t just possible, but likely.
Elect the most rock-ribbed conservative (say, Ted Cruz) as president and at the end of the day -- or after a couple of terms -- the country’s likely to be only nominally better off. Perhaps the word is “temporarily.” A renovated house standing on a bad foundation will collapse eventually.
That’s not to say that government isn’t a critical subset of society. The left uses government as a tool -- increasingly, as a weapon -- to impose its vision of a “progressive” society on us. Tyranny -- soft or hard -- relies on force. When arguments or glares can’t persuade, anything from punitive fines to battering rams work....

I hope so. I’m not yet encouraged.
I believe it’s valid to view the current situation as one of the Lord forcing awareness upon us of the fundamental spiritual battle between heaven and hell. Other evils might be more or less forgotten or ignored. The latest ones get in your face.
Christian faith has slumbered, but I think it hasn’t croaked yet.
The squirrel is now getting in your face....
The Left will not allow a peaceful liberty coalition to be formed within the US without extreme countermeasures. There will be harassment and targeting of groups and churches by the IRS, the DOJ, the DHS, NSA, etc. I think we are past being able to restore the country from within the system. There will need to be a conflagration, perhaps a societal collapse, revolution, or the like to reset the country and change course.
It's the Media people. Film and Television empowered what had been historically the most degenerate and depraved people in any society short of Whores, Gamblers, and Thieves;
Actors.
Suddenly, this low class of people who only used to play theaters that might have a few thousand audience, became enriched, and were enabled by Film and Television to spread their performances to Millions.
Media gave the lowest component of our culture the means to drag the rest of the culture down to it's level, and that has what they have proceded to do using the power of Television and Film to brainwash gullible people. (Created in large Quantities by Government ran school systems.)
The Media industry is the linchpin of culture, and they have been using it against us for a very long time.
Getting guys like this (Trump, Cruz)in doesn’t help a thing if we can’t get the others out (Boner, Pelosi).
If I hear TAX CUTS (unless they are talking about a FLAT TAX for everyone), I will SCREAM!!! It’s about CULTURE......and LAWLESSNESS of Democrats!
It took the Left 50-80 years to drag the culture down to where it is today, and it’s going to take at least as long to pull it back up. If it can even be done.
Perhaps we should look at this with a perspective informed from the Bible. We the people have allowed the filth to rise in our midst, ignored the outright rejection of a biblically informed taboo structure of the society, in the name of tolerance. Now what we have tolerated is poisoning the lot. And that’s what is prophesied for the last days just before God says to His Son, Go get your bride. I’ve had enough of this and I’m gonna pour out My Wrath upon the rest.
Well Obviously Rush has it wrong because plenty of staunch right wing conservatives told us repeatedly that we need too elect lesser evil bot stand on conservative principle.
Don’t ;let that massive contradiction disuade you from believing these people folks. Up is down and black is white and if you don’t agree, you obviously love Obama and hate America.
They used FR to spread that for 6 years now so it must be true.
How many here see the left now seems getting ready to engage in what I can only call “Reconstruction 2” of the south....and if you think Reconstruction 1 was harsh, you ain't seen nothing

This is a spiritual battle.
The left, for the most part, doesn’t even realize whom they are working for,
they just know they have a visceral hatred for Christians and what they believe.
Have you seen the homosexuals lined up at churches to get married?
Nope.
Did you see how fast homosexual couples are going to get federal benefits?
That is the answer.
They wanted money.
“It’s just about love.” Yep, love of money.
Amen! Amazing how many are in denial, avoiding the truth that Jesus isn’t returning the next time because things are going well in His view.
There’s a lot of levels to this.
Some actually want what they say they want.
Some have greedy motivations.
But the ones using both of the above want to kill Christians.

I was going to say - Don't worry, the Federal Government will have a program to fund de-scaling for lower and middle class voters. And when any conservative complains about the cost of descaling and the massive government debt, or corrupt financial system that supports it, you will be called a de-scaler and hater. RINO republicans will then tell us that grandparents and single mothers need government de-scaling subsidies and will continue to support the program.
