Prior to the Confederate battle flags removal outside the South Carolina State House, CNNs Don Lemon gave a personal confession: Like many other black Americans, he left the south as a young adult thinking his chances were limited if he had stayed south of the Mason-Dixon line.
After Urban League President JT McLawhorn suggested the Confederate battle flag has long been a symbol promoting a culture of low expectations for black residents, Lemon responded with the following personal anecdote:
I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana really a little town called Port Allen, Louisiana, and also Baker. I didnt think specifically about the flag. I just thought my chances are limited as long as I stay in the south. So I went north where I did have more opportunities, quite frankly. [ ] Many people do leave the south because they feel they dont have opportunities and this flag may be a representation of that.

Losing losers like Lemon can only mean South’s Gonna Rise Again
More, more, more!
Boo hoo.
Who knew a bit of laundry fluttering in the breeze could be so powerful over the simple-minded?
And if the South is so limiting and awful, why is he now working in Atlanta?
Turns out to be much the same no matter where you go, huh? Your chances are always what you make of them. Only you can really hold yourself back.
Funny, because many black people have moved BACK to the South to give their kids a chance of being educated and of not getting involved with gangs.
What an idiot, stats are showing blacks are moving back to south in droves especially out of rust belt because of economics and ALOT less racial strife.
Being gay had nothing to do with it?
Good riddance!
Lemon works there again too.
More than likely he had to leave because he got caught at what he does best. Lying.
They don’t take kindly to homosexuals down there, either.
Just a stupid A-hole.
There plenty of millionaires and upper middle class who are “black”.
The only limits are your thinking.
No, you jerk. You moved where your job took you.
If you feel so strongly, why not be an agent of change in the south and help change your culture from constant carping to thoughts of hope and opportunities.
It is people like you who perpetuate the myth that anyone hates blacks or would ever think to marginalize or disenfranchise anyone.
Jackass....
Well Don, nobody lost any sleep over your departure.
Kind of like white people feeling limited in black-run utopia’s Lemon?
Yet...you’re paid “big bucks” and in the South...LOL!
Funny, since census data shows lots of people are leaving the Northeast because of lack of opportunity (driven by confiscatory taxes and oppressive government regulations) THERE.
What an idiot, stats are showing blacks are moving back to south in droves especially out of rust belt because of economics and ALOT less racial strife.
Strange since so many get UN-limited welfare, UN-Limitied Healthcare, UN-limited food stamps, and all other UN-limited entitlements by not being white. I guess they aren't stopping until massa gives them UN-limited reparations.
When did this idiot leave the South? 1930? In fact, the opposite is true. Diaspora southern blacks have migrated back to their old stomping grounds because of the cost of living, the weather and the friendly people.
Idiot.
More stereotypical hate speech from the Left.
"Feeeelings....nothing more than feeeelings...."
