Calling all Oregon FReepers: Even if you’re not gay, go to a Muslim-owned bakery and order a Wedding Cake for a gay wedding. Then sue them and make $135,000.
I am certainly on the side of the Christian bakers, however, if we Christians are going to do business among the nonChristian world, then perhaps we need to be a bit more savy. For instance, in the case of these bakers, could they have told the customer that “sorry, we are all booked up for this month, we are a small family operation and so can only do so much”. Or they could have sub-contracted out the baking of the cake and took no profit markup themselves. In other words, find a way to not bake the cake themselves, at the same time no riling up the customer.
Once the LGBT people realize they are not going to be able to put us in a compromising position, suing will not be an option to them anymore. It’s sort of like having places as gun-free zones...... And that is where the criminals will chose to do their evil deeds because it’s easier and safer for them.
