Gee. I don’t know what kind of an ‘image’ the GOP thinks it has but to me it certainly isn’t a good one. When I hear GOP(e), I am reminded of a pair of dirty, skid-marked under drawers.

I'm so happy Trump is doing this. He is verbalizing, publicly, many things we've discussed about the GOPe on FR.

“But if this does have legs, if Trump can keep this going, it will be very worrisome.”

If “this” does have legs, it means that one GOP candidate is rising above all the RINOs and will have a real chance of winning. And THAT is worrisome to GOP insiders?!

There ya go folks, GOP insiders don’t want victory if it’s not won by a RINO.

I’m a conservative/unaffiliated, and am not a big Trump fan. That said, I can look past his “image” if he continues to champion conservative causes and American exceptionalism. I can NOT look past GOP insider idiocy.

Has the head of the Republican National Committee asked the DemocRATS to tone down the rhetoric?

Didn’t think so.

They fear damage to their position In whatever deal they’ve had going on for thirty years. That’s not the party. That’s the corrupt leadership. If they don’t know that the party is happy to watch this, well, they don’t. They are just out of touch.

I am no fan of Trump, but I will vote for him on the immigration issue alone. He is the only one that has dared mention the problem. And it is a huge problem. Maybe the biggest problem this nation faces, simply because of the corruption and cowardliness of the political class. .

Sure be nice if Previous and other Republican ‘leaders’ would spend an hour or so talking to the TEA PARTY.

...but at least Trump got his attention. That’s more than Cruz, Walker, or anyone else has been able to do.

So KEEP IT UP, TRUMP!!!

Oh, for heaven’s sake. The Morlocks are now at the out-of-touch delusional stage. Any image the Republican Party has is awful. Ruining that image is a good thing.

Smart will be the candidate who does not throw Trump under the bus.

Trump may not go the distance, but someone (Cruz?) could certainly jump on board with him and benefit.

Ronald Reagan started out as a Democrat but they became more and more liberal.

Eventually he couldn’t stand it anymore and he left them.

I notice is a similar evolution taking place in me these of the GOP:

GOP is just a liberal party, and Im not liberal.

"GOP leaders fear damage to party’s image as Donald Trump doubles down"

No, the GOP "leaders" fear the popularity of Trump's message will anger their corporate establishment masters and influence them to withhold their largess.
