U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday urged German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to compromise on an emergency financing deal that could keep Greece in the eurozone.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the president was encouraged by assurances from both leaders in separate phone calls that “it’s in their collective and mutual interest for Greece to remain part of the eurozone.”

But Mr. Obama stressed in the calls that “the only way that we’ll succeed in achieving that goal is for all of the parties to agree to a package of reforms and financing that puts Greece back on a path toward economic growth and debt sustainability.”

Greece this weekend rejected creditors’ demands for major economic overhauls in exchange for more bailout cash. Ms. Merkel has been Athens’s foil, opposing the Greek government’s bid for debt relief. After months of negotiations, an impasse forced Greece to institute capital controls to prevent a complete collapse of the economy and pushed the country to the brink of a eurozone exit.

Actually it is mutually agreed. He needs the bump by appearing he matters. He promises some of our money and takes credit for the compromise. It is a put up job by the EU.

He is a fool but the US public is the cash cow idiots paying for his PR move.

A deal arranged by Obama would have Greece’s debt cancelled and awarded a 50% ownership of Volkswagen.

Greece must also promote gay marriage and change their national flag to include a rainbow and 2 naked wrestlers.
