Carnival Corp. is steering a course toward Cuba.
The world’s largest cruise ship company announced Tuesday that it had received approval from the U.S. government to operate cruises to the island nation as a provider of cultural exchange programs.

I think it’s a good thing. Growing up in South Florida, I saw families ripped apart by the Cuban government. Opening it up to the world is a good thing and a move towards reuniting families. Nothing destroys communism like capitalism.

A local newscaster here announced he was ‘sponsoring’ a trip to cuba- he caught a LOT of grief for it
And the local prostitution business should experience a sharp uptick
There have been tours out of Florida to Cuba for several years. Government there is a PITA, people are very friendly. Opening up Cuba can lead to a much freer Cuban people.
That should never take place unless, and until, Cuban citizens have the same rights to visit the U.S.
Fewer tourist dollars to Mexico.

The bandwagon effect. Stupid individuals doing something because others are doing it. The rush is on to do business with Cuba.
An invsion of a million American Tourists, all waving money and drinking cheap rum will destroy Cuba as sure as if the 101 airborn would. How can Communism survive when faced with Greed, and the ideas of Capitalism? Revolt, Revolution is coming and all who wore the red bandanas of Marx will fold like a house of cards. Obama may have done something good here but he doesn’t even know it!
An open secret so to speak is that there is a lot prostitution in Cuba. The people are so poor that many women, including many ordinary housewives, do this to earn extra cash. And they like to meet up with foreign visitors who pay them in hard currency.
If communism is such a superior system, why are people in communist countries struggling to eke out a living ???
Why have Chinese people become much better off since China started introducing free market reforms in their economy?
If capitalism is so evil why does an injection of capitalist investment benefit so many people in communist countries???
Is not Carnival the line that had that disease cruise, and the one that lost power and drifted? I have to laugh........
Hey Carnival, why not a cruise to Somalia or Venezuela? They couldn’t pay me to take a cruise to the Cuban economic disaster. Are they going to offer a shore trip to a sugar plantation where the cruisers get to help harvest the cane fields along side the Cuban peons?
