Being almost symmetrical (except for the orientation of the little stars on it) that is hard to notice. I wonder how often that has happened by sheer mistake.
Headline of the Day Poll
What does the Confederate flag mean to you?
Racism (45%)
Southern pride (43%)
I don’t know. (12%)

I noted to a man once that his flag was upside down, and he said, “I know. International sign of distress.”..........Southern people know....................
I guess that’s what that guy is trying to point out.
But not everybody is, Joie. Will you ban the Stars and Stripes next???
It is a part of history.
I’d been wondering about whether that was possible with the Dixie flag. My first thought was that this was impossible. But now, I agree it is possible. The center star is supposed to have a point that points straight up.
An upside-down Dixie flag could be the sign of the new rebellion against the new tyranny.
I hate to a harda$$(actually no) but if they want to take a stand for the flag shouldn’t they be somewhere else rather than at the racetrack filling NASCAR’s coffers?
Will Brian France run around in the infield at Talladega confiscating Rebel Flags on the day of the fall race?
My guess, he wouldn't dare try a dumb stunt like that. But you never know ....
In the beginning there was no Up or Down. They were made either way, and some historical flags were actually made upside down by today’s practice.
Now, all stars have their ‘top’ point straight up................
There is a massive backlash underway against the social justice warriors and their neo-Stalinist ways. I just don’t know if it will be enough, or if blood will have to spill.
The Confeds were celebrating diversity.
If Al Sharpton woke up tomorrow and decided that vanilla ice-cream was racist because it's white, and that anyone that eats vanilla ice-cream is a racist or (if black) an Uncle Tom then, by the end of the week, there would be calls for it to be banned. The NYT would write on the oppressive history of vanilla-bean farmers; MSNBC would do an "expose" on the racist history of consumers of vanilla ice-cream; Obama's (in)Justice Department would investigate manufacturers of vanilla ice-cream; the IRS would conduct audits of the same companies; and there would be marches and rioting on the streets of major US cities.
There are those among us that wake up everyday looking for something to be agrieved about. Critics don't need to get rid of the old confederate battle-flag (it's just a flag for Pete's sake!), they need to get an education.
Not for nothing but that flag should not be above old glory.
Somehow, I was pretty sure this was going to be the response of the NASCAR fan base - they would consider it a challenge to put ANY limits on the display of the battle standard of the Army of Northern Virginia.
Attempting to repress the display of this symbol of the South may have tapped into something that has been simmering for a long time.
How would anyone know?
Never mind. Answered my own question.
