We are fast becoming a nation of lazy, spoiled weaklings, incapable of introspection, a place where every legitimate accomplishment must be minimized and every failure must be excused, lest the egos of the Cheetos-munching e-masses be turned black and blue from the trauma of the truth.
I propose that we build a culture of deliberate thought and unbiased observation, where each and every person’s contribution is considered with care, regardless of age, sex, or race. This is not equality – I despise the word equality. It has come to mean nothing more than the flattening of our perceptions, the dismissal of our abilities to maturely reason and judge, and a willful ignorance of our variations in intellect, knowledge, skill, and moral fiber–real differences that constitute the only sort of diversity worth taking into account. “Equality” as it is being thrust upon us by the champions of mediocrity is an insult to the memories and legacies of the true innovators–the heroes of discovery–that gave us computers, cars, unparalleled health and longevity, and perpetually full bellies.
These heroes were not the equals of their peers; they were their superiors, just as those who carry on this noble struggle today are our superiors. To say otherwise is to lie perniciously...

I have observed that the dominant elements of culture tend to take their shape from the president.
With Reagan, we had machoism.
With Clinton, we had self indulgence.
With Bush, we had a surge of patriotism and renewed respect for the military.
With Obama, we have endless victimhood and attempts by the “oppressed” to “get even” at any cost.
The presidency under Obama has set the country into one of the worst moods I’ve ever seen. Even Carter with his “malaise” wasn’t this bad.
One silver lining of the Obama reign is that I feel liberated for any sense of responsibility towards anyone who is not of my tribe (however I choose to define that). The “victims” all have preferential treatment, associations we would never be permitted to form, and the media & Bolshevik government as their champions; I owe them nothing.
I can read the most horrifying news stories about violence committed amongst them, and simply shrug as long as nobody from “my” tribe was impacted. The victims have won my indifference; it is like studying martians...

I feel the same. You certainly are not alone. I also rarely give to charity anymore either. I have to personally know someone who is struggling and then I give anonymously.

Nothing’s going to change until you hit the streets with signs, torches, pitchforks and brass knuckles.
But if 50 million dead babies couldn’t induce anyone to storm the capital, I doubt anything else will either.

Makes sense; at this point the “charities” are the ones shipping more charity cases here from abroad (to justify their own existence).
I hereby declare Mr. & Mrs. Tomato Lover members of the tribe, with all that entails (both positive & negative); we Irish are a primitive people, determined to fill the world with our offspring while maintaining a naïve peasant’s faith in God.
