One of the problems with employee training is that you don't want YOUR employee to show up somewhere else as the one who with "exactly the perfect qualifications to magically appear somehow."

In some technical areas, my company doesn't like to train people unless we can get an employment commitment from them. It doesn't do a company any good to spend a lot of time and money training an employee, only to see him walk out the door and go to work for a competitor.

Seems to me the first programs to go should be those that weren’t funded by our own contributions.

Why, how would that help the RATs guarantee the votes of the global universe of entitlees?

The fact that there is 15%-20% unemployment in the working age population (considering those who dropped out of the workforce, took disability after 2 years unemployed, retired at 55), there is NO need for immigration - there are too many Americans who need work.

Mike Rowe is right - a lot of kids going to college to drop out or get a useless degree would be better off getting a job in the skilled trades - trained faster and paid better.
