It took a long time. Jews must not typically have large families these days, but then, most people don’t regardless of ethnicity. It’s very expensive to raise children properly, and take care of all their health care or education needs.
Can’t remember exactly where in the bible; I read it was 1/3 of 1/3 of the Jewish population that would survive to the end of the tribulation.
My default (G-d’s plan), the Jews are to be a very small minority in the world, no matter what, forever. Yet, their influence is to be great and disproportional and that has happened.
In addition, Jews are to remain “different” from the other Nations.
Some Jewish groups in America conduct censuses to prove that they are in better shape than they really are. They are fooling themselves, and they know it.
Assimilation is killing them off.
You can't call yourself a Jew unless you were born a Jew or converted. You can't just “feel” Jewish because you had a hot pastrami on rye sandwich.
There are rules & guidelines.
To base one’s Jewish identity on the fact that they eat chicken soup with kreplach or eat matzoh ball soup on Passover will not cut the mustard.
A Jewish life devoid of Jewish content (Torah, study and Mitzvot - good deeds and commandments) is a life which is destined to disappear...
So, I don't believe in the numbers or the encouragement it is supposed to give to the quickly disappearing Jewish (American)community.

concidering the world’s population numbers now, and what they were back then- The numbers of Jews is still down significantly

No, they have always been quite overt. Just as now.
Agree...it took much longer than it should have. In the 40s, 50s and even 60s, most Jewish families were of decent size. Not so today. Too many Jews either don’t have kids or have 1-2 kids. And many times those kids are not raised Jewish.

In Israel, they have an average of 3 per family. It’s the standard, as they joke. Of course, in the USA many of them are Democrats and prefer same gender relationships.
