When our elected representatives “submit” to ANYTHING, they fail to do their jobs. The should not submit to the president, to the speaker, to the majority leader, to the minority leader, to pressure groups, to lobbyists, to the democrat party, to the republican party or to anything else.

They should stand up for what they believe in and honor the campaign promises they made to their constituents.

Otherwise, why bother electing “representatives” at all?

How does 3 dozen members of House Freedom Caucus leverage the House GOP caucus?

Of course they can't, so instead, they throw bombs. And they are all unhappy because their bomb throwing leader, Ted Crud, has abandoned them

... but many professed conservatives supported the Boner in the election for Speaker only a few weeks after the election ... go figure!

The republican free trader lobby WILL NOT be denied their free access to cheap foreign slave labor, American workers be damned.

And here I thought that the democrats were the party of jim crow and the KKK. At we know where they stand. On the other hand...

The republicans have become the party of third world labor, La Raza, and chinese communism, and would sell their wives and children to make a profit for the next quarter.

That being said, the democrats are just as dirty, and would do the same in this deal of looting the US economy for fun and profit.

Enjoy the ride down, because EVERYONE is going to hit the bottom hard.

‘WHY THE HELL DID YOU PUT HIM BACK IN THAT POSITION?????’

Because he is the dispenser of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Same w/ McConnell.

They are beholden to all of the lobbyists w/ deep pockets. You want to get re-elected, you gotts to play ball.

Over tanned SOB. I wondered why so much nonsense came from Boner and why no one ever resisted him. Did the founders really envision this evolution of the system? I thought all Congressmen were suppose to be equals? Silly me.

...and my next question is:

When is it going to stop? When we no longer have a Nation to worry about because we aren’t strong enough to put the pressure needed to scare the HELL out of the people we elect????

Not an excuse......

He's not going to resign until his state people put pressure on him, will they do it??? I don't know, all depends on how much lobbyists money he's giving the state he comes from....

-- Lashing out means nothing ... --

Most people impute "temper tantrum" to "lashing out," as an act that is irrational and futile. Just saying, the article wants the reader to jump to those conclusions anyway. Lashing out is, by common definition, a futile act.

-- The GOP only exists to create an illusion of a representative republic. --

To be sure, there is a power play between the parties, and each individual member's fortune rises or falls based on political (crony) power.

I submit that the purpose is more sinister than illusion and personal gain. The presence of a so-called opposition party is used to legitimize the government, which at bottom is nothing more than the use of force against the public.

None of this is "new" revelation, "new" meaning "since 1980" or "since 1950." The overgrowth of government has been going on, and noticed, for about 100 years.

Probably not exactly this form, but "oh yeah," they knew that governments grow until the people resist. And they knew that it is possible for a government to grow so much, that the people can't resist. Game over.

The claim is that we are a self-governing people. It is to laugh. The same template is set up, by proxy, all over the world - make the people think they have some control, and they'll work happy and hard for the elites.
