Cardinal Suggests Rush Doesn't Understand Pope On Environment
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 06/21/2015 8:07:20 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

The Cardinal couldn't have been more polite, but it didn't take much reading between the lines to get what he was asserting: that when it comes to the encyclical on the environment, Rush Limbaugh doesn't understand what the Pope was saying.

On today's Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace played a clip of Rush saying that the encyclical "is suggesting is that everyone should vote for the Democrat party. How in the hell else do you interpret it when the Pope sounds like Al Gore on global warming and climate change?" Responded Cardinal Donald Wuerl: "one of the great blessings of America" is that "we're all allowed to speak our mind even if we don't have all the facts. Even if we don't have a clear view of what the other person is saying."

"Pope Francis called Thursday for a bold cultural revolution to correct what he calls the "structurally perverse" economic system of the rich exploiting the poor that is turning Earth into an "immense pile of filth."..."--from a recently posted article/thread

This pope or should I say, this dope, sounds like Hugo Chavez... Both even used the word "perverse" to describe the Capitalist system.

The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible — global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes — with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet.”

“I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I don’t think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, ‘tomorrow could be too late, let’s do now what we need to do’.”

I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world — a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet.”

—Hugo Chavez, at the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Caracas on August 8-15, 2005

He's saying why don't we all discuss this? Why don't we all come to the table and before we start eliminating other people from the discussion, or denouncing them or even ridiculing them, why don't we listen to them and see what they're saying, and see where we should be going as a human family.

Ah yes, the old let's sit down and break bread narrative. When leftists are unable to face the facts.

'Course, the issue here isn't whether or not we have the right to speak but whether or not such an influential person as Da Pope who can shape the minds of hearts of tens of millions if not billions of uneducated peons to persuade them to consign themselves to even further generations of peonhood should allow himself to be used as a pawn to help those who wish to bring that about.

His focus should be on preparing souls for their after-environment.

But then, he's a Cardinal. He's living the good life. Screw the masses.

Using those little white envelopes to further the leftist agenda. Very bad Church policy.

Actually the Pope agreed with global warming deniers who say it is a religion, he said it certainly is. He was wrong on one point, if you destroy CO2 you will be destroying the rain forrests.

So, does this Cardinal have “all the facts”? Does he really understand what the Pope is saying?

It is becoming harder and harder to dismiss this Pope as anything but a Marxist (or a useful tool of the Marxists). His pronouncements won’t affect me as I am not Catholic; however, I’m afraid too many [otherwise conservative] Catholics will be swayed by this Pope.

Rush understands it only too well and has a better grasp on reality than this Pope ever will have, including some of the bishops who are just pawns in the scheme of things.

Interesting that the forces that usually decry any religious involvement in public discourse are now flocking to Da Pope.

I'm sure once they get what they want they'll kick him back to the gutter they just dragged him out of.

Il Papa should aks God for wisdom. I understand He will give it to any who earnestly seek it.

But, hey, don't take my word for it. I'm no Pope.

Why don't we all come to the table and before we start eliminating other people from the discussion, or denouncing them or even ridiculing them,

I recall back in my university days, liberals used this approach to introduce their socialist concepts. They were in the minority then, but when they became the majority, they invented political correctness to shut out any concepts other than their own.

I am not casting any aspersions, I was just struck by the similarity.

Which is *exactly* what this pope does on every single topic he's spoken out on.

And here we are left to believe that the pope is infallible no matter how much ignorance and outright stupidity comes out of his mouth.

This is the same pope who failed to speak out on "gay marriage" and then sat idly by as an entire country (Ireland) which is overwhelmingly catholic, voted in favor of "gay marriage."

This pope is doing the one thing the islamists wish they could be doing this fast: destroying the catholic church.

This Pope is a Jesuit, the very first and only Jesuit that has ever attained the Papacy. The Jesuit order it has been said is the CIA of the Vatican. Now one of theirs is in the inner sanctum, so there is no check and balance. In my opinion this can only end badly. See the Prophecy of St. Malachy for further intel if you wish.
